Summary

Mainstream Engineering is seeking an Electrical Manufacturing Engineer to support the transition of innovative products from research and development into production. This role works at the intersection of design and manufacturing, partnering with engineering and production teams to develop efficient, repeatable processes for building high-performance electrical and electromechanical systems.

The Electrical Manufacturing Engineer will play a key role in new product introduction, production support, process development, and continuous improvement initiatives. Products may include electronic assemblies, control systems, wiring harnesses, test equipment, and other advanced technologies supporting both commercial and military applications.

This position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies in a hands-on manufacturing environment where engineers have direct visibility into the products they help bring to life.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing and assembly processes for electrical and electromechanical products.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to improve manufacturability, assembly efficiency, product quality, and production readiness.
  • Review electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, bills of materials, and assembly documentation.
  • Support new product introductions from prototype through production.
  • Design, develop, and implement manufacturing tooling, fixtures, and test equipment.
  • Create and maintain manufacturing documentation including work instructions, process flows, travelers, and test procedures.
  • Support production activities by troubleshooting manufacturing issues and implementing corrective actions.
  • Analyze production workflows and identify opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, throughput, and cost.
  • Work closely with production, quality, supply chain, and engineering teams to resolve technical challenges.
  • Participate in root cause investigations, continuous improvement projects, and process validation activities.
  • Support manufacturing readiness reviews and production planning efforts.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes meet applicable quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum GPA of 3.3 for all completed degrees
  • Experience with electrical or electromechanical manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with electronic assemblies, wiring harnesses, control panels, PCB assemblies, or electrical testing.
  • Understanding of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
  • Experience creating or supporting manufacturing documentation and work instructions.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing process development, production support, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • U.S. Citizenship required due to strict ITAR regulations.
