Contract Duration: 6-12 Months
Location: Remote/Hybrid (as applicable)

Overview

We are seeking a highly analytical QA/Test Engineer who excels at designing and executing comprehensive test scenarios derived from product specifications, technical designs, and acceptance criteria. This role requires strong problem-solving abilities, a detail-oriented mindset, and familiarity with validating complex workflows within cybersecurity or SaaS environments.

Key Responsibilities

Test Design & Execution
  • Design, maintain, and execute clear, structured, and traceable test cases based on product requirements and technical specifications.
  • Translate product logic into robust test coverage including positive, negative, and edge-case scenarios.
  • Validate complex workflows typical of a cybersecurity SaaS platform (scans, reports, configurations, permissions, multi-user flows).

Defect Analysis & Quality Assurance
  • Reproduce defects reliably and analyze root causes.
  • Review logs, examine system responses, and isolate failure points.
  • Provide clear, actionable insights to development teams.

Collaboration
  • Partner closely with SDETs, developers, and product managers to ensure quality is integrated throughout the SDLC.
  • Provide structured input into test automation strategy (no hands-on automation required).
  • Participate in grooming, refinement, and release planning discussions.

Documentation & Tracking
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date test documentation in TestRail.
  • Track test tasks, defects, and quality risks using Azure Boards.
  • Ensure test cases, results, and defects are properly linked to requirements and releases.

Required Skills

Testing & Analysis
  • Strong ability to create test cases from specifications (not just UI behavior).
  • Comfortable analyzing:
    • Data flows
    • State transitions
    • Business logic
    • Failure modes
  • Strong debugging and issue-triage skills, including log review and response validation.
  • Excellent communication skills - able to clearly explain why something fails.

Process & Collaboration
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams (Devs, PMs, SDETs).
  • Understands quality as a shared responsibility, not a final step.

Tools & Technologies

Required
  • Test Management: TestRail
  • Work Tracking: Azure Boards
  • Testing Types: Functional, regression, exploratory, integration

Nice to Have
  • API testing experience
  • Basic understanding of test automation concepts (Playwright, API automation, CI pipelines)
  • Experience with SaaS platforms, security products, or configuration-heavy systems
