Role: SAP Cloud ERP Finance Configuration Lead

Location: Remote – US (Travel as needed)

Role Overview:

Seeking an experienced SAP Finance Configuration Lead to manage configuration, post-go-live stabilization, and continuous improvement of SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition Finance, ensuring alignment with business processes, accounting policies, and clean-core principles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead fit-to-standard workshops, Finance configuration, functional design, and configuration backlog prioritization.

• Configure and support General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Asset Accounting, cost centers, profit centers, allocations, controlling structures, and period-end close.

• Own Event-Based Revenue Recognition for project-based services, including WIP, project costs, revenue recognition methods, exception handling, and reconciliation with the General Ledger.

• Support cash and liquidity management, house banks, bank accounts, payment processing, and applicable treasury functions.

• Troubleshoot financial postings, account derivation, valuation, master-data issues, integration failures, and revenue recognition discrepancies.

• Lead unit, regression, release, and business validation testing; define acceptance criteria and maintain configuration documentation, decision records, and audit evidence.

• Partner with data and integration teams on financial data quality, migration, reconciliation, interfaces, and upstream/downstream accounting impacts.

• Provide production support during financial close, billing, revenue recognition cycles, and critical incidents.

• Assess SAP cloud releases and feature changes, manage regression scope, and recommend enhancements or mitigation actions.

• Guide functional analysts and implementation partners, ensuring quality deliverables, change control, segregation of duties, and approved deployment practices.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

• 8+ years of SAP Finance experience, including hands-on configuration and functional leadership.

• Experience with SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition or comparable S/4HANA cloud solutions, including post-go-live support.

• Strong understanding of financial accounting, controlling, integrated postings, reconciliations, and period-end close.

Technical Skills:

• SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition, FI/CO, Asset Accounting, and SAP Fiori.

• Event-Based Revenue Recognition, WIP, project costing, and project-based accounting.

• Cash and Liquidity Management, house banks, payments, and treasury integration.

• SAP Central Business Configuration (CBC), configuration lifecycle, business roles, testing, defect management, and release impact assessment.

• Integration with Professional Services, project billing, procurement, time and expense, tax, banking, and reporting.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional services or project-based enterprise experience.

• SAP Activate, fit-to-standard workshops, clean-core governance, and SAP Cloud ALM.

• SAP certification or relevant training in S/4HANA Cloud Financial Accounting or Management Accounting.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

Work closely with Finance, Controllership, Treasury, Tax, Billing, Procurement, Professional Services, Data, Integration, Security/IAM, Enterprise Architecture, QA/Release Management, SAP Support, and implementation partners.
