Service Technician - TEKsystems

Overview

The Service Technician performs routine and emergency service calls, troubleshoots system issues, completes repairs, and delivers high-quality customer support. This role works independently and may assist in training junior technicians.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and emergency service calls.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and replace malfunctioning security equipment.
• Test systems and verify signals.
• Provide customer training on system use.
• Maintain truck inventory, tools, and equipment.
• Document service work and submit required reports.
• Support and coach less-experienced technicians.
• Complete additional assigned tasks.

Skills

CCTV Access Control Security Systems Alarm Systems Installation Service Technical Support

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or vocational training.
• 3+ years of related service technician experience.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with intrusion, fire, CCTV, intercom, and access control systems.
• Knowledge of local/national codes.
• Proficient with test equipment (multimeters, battery analyzers, decibel meters).
• Valid driver's license; able to pass drug screening.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, climb, kneel, crawl, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Work in tight or elevated spaces (ladders, scaffolding, attics, above ceilings).
• Full-time flexible schedule with on-call availability and short-notice travel.
• Ability to drive for extended periods.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
