Title: Oracle Database Administrator
Duration: 12 Months with the possibility of extension based on demand and conversion, but not a guarantee.
Location: Remote - Candidates local to Corning, NY or Charlotte, NC preferred; however, candidates in all US locations will be considered. Candidates must be willing to support EST.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 am-5 pm. OT not anticipated.
Travel: Up to 10% Travel required (one time per year, 2 days)

SCOPE/PURPOSE OF POSITION:
• Leverage technical acumen to provide superior Engineering and production support for Global Oracle Database environments. In addition, will drive and participate in efforts to ensure platform stability to maximize performance of database environments. Partner with application owners/teams to understand application and business needs and SLO.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• The primary focus will be on production support for database environments, working with 24/7 support staff
• Database administration (Installation, configuration, and management, patching and upgrade of the database environments), Perform Database Backup & Recovery
• Participate in the Change Advisory Board and provide guidance on governance of database changes. Performing problem resolution for complex issues, including root cause analysis, and outlining resolution options
• Automate Infrastructure components leveraging understanding of scripting, coding and automation using one or more of the following: PowerShell, Microsoft DSC, Chef, Puppet, Ruby, Terraform, OEM or others
• Perform Database refresh as per customer needs
• Database/SQL Monitoring and Performance Tuning
• Using database expertise and leadership experience to identify and drive improvement efforts related to our database portfolio
• Providing off-hours support, when required, for critical production issues. Will be involved in the team's on-call support rotation.
• Automate Infrastructure components leveraging understanding of scripting, coding and automation using one or more of the following: PowerShell, Microsoft DSC, Chef, Puppet, Ruby, Terraform, OEM or others.
• Maintains technical knowledge on current and emerging Multi-Cloud developments, industry trends, assesses the opportunity, and collaborates with stakeholders to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future strategies
• Work with the third-party support team (on-shore and off-shore) and application support teams to educate and guide them for steady-state support of database infrastructure-related technologies

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
• BS degree in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience, or Associate degree
WORK EXPERIENCE
• 7+ years working in IT as an Oracle Database Administrator
REQUIRED SKILLS
• Played pivotal roles as Database Administrator and support staff across various database technologies
• Knowledgeable in database technologies – Oracle RAC, Grid Infrastructure, Oracle Enterprise Manager, Linux scripting etc.
• Database/SQL Monitoring and Performance Tuning
• Experience with Linux and Windows OS
• Effective leadership, organization, and planning skills, with the ability to handle changing priorities
• Excellent communications, interpersonal and influencing skills
• Demonstrated track record of on-time delivery within budget; ability to drive projects to successful conclusion using influencing tools
• Ability to lead international teams across multiple initiatives that span various lines of business, geographic borders, time zones, and cultures
• Strong experience with Oracle Clustering technologies
• Extensive hands-on experience with Oracle database versions from Oracle 9i through Oracle 26ai.
DESIRED SKILLS
• Should have experience of working in the Manufacturing Industry (or similar) to understand the data security requirements like ITAR/PCI/PHI/HIPPA/NIST/SOX etc. (preferred)
