Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Core Banking Architect to join a leading banking client's Digital Technology & Innovation (DTI) organization. This role is ideal for a seasoned architect with extensive experience in core banking transformation, payments modernization, enterprise architecture, and banking domain expertise. While exposure to Blockchain/Digital Assets is desirable, the primary focus remains on core banking architecture and modernization initiatives.

The selected consultant will drive architecture strategy across deposits, lending, payments, treasury, and customer management systems while enabling integration with modern cloud-native and API-driven platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Core Banking Architecture (Primary Focus)

• Lead architecture and modernization initiatives for core banking platforms.
• Design enterprise solutions covering:
• Deposits (CASA)
• Lending
• Payments
• General Ledger
• Customer & Account Management
• Define architecture standards for security, scalability, resiliency, and regulatory compliance.
• Drive modernization programs involving:
• Legacy transformation
• API-first architecture
• Microservices adoption
• Event-driven architecture
• Cloud migration strategies
• Design integrations between core banking systems and:
• ACH
• RTGS
• SWIFT
• ISO 20022 payment networks
• Digital banking channels
• Enterprise data platforms

Enterprise Architecture & Integration

• Architect hybrid ecosystems combining legacy banking applications and modern cloud-native platforms.
• Design API, ESB, middleware, and event-streaming integration patterns.
• Ensure solutions support:
• High Availability
• Fault Tolerance
• Transaction Integrity
• Data Consistency
• Enterprise Scalability

Blockchain & Emerging Technologies (Secondary Focus)

• Evaluate Blockchain and Distributed Ledger technologies within banking environments.
• Support integration between traditional banking platforms and digital asset ecosystems.
• Assess business value, regulatory impact, and architectural feasibility of emerging technologies.

Leadership & Governance

• Establish enterprise architecture standards and governance.
• Partner with Payments, Lending, Treasury, Liquidity, Settlements, and KYC teams.
• Mentor architects and engineering teams.
• Drive architecture reviews, standards adoption, and technology strategy discussions.
