Kforce has a client in Edison, NJ that is seeking a Epic Cogito Reporting Lead.
Summary:
The Epic Cogito Reporting Lead serves as the senior technical authority for Epic reporting solutions, providing strategic direction and hands-on expertise across the Cogito reporting platform. This role is responsible for defining reporting architecture, establishing development standards, advising stakeholders on reporting capabilities, and guiding the design and delivery of clinical, operational, and business reporting solutions. As a senior individual contributor, the Reporting Lead combines deep Epic Cogito knowledge with strong technical leadership, helping teams solve complex reporting challenges while ensuring scalable, effective, and compliant reporting practices.
Key Responsibilities:
* Serve as the subject matter expert for Epic Cogito reporting capabilities and best practices
* Advise clinical, operational, informatics, analytics, and application teams on reporting requirements and solution options
* Define technical approaches, development standards, and reusable reporting patterns
* Provide hands-on development and prototyping of complex reporting solutions utilizing Reporting Workbench, Radar, SlicerDicer, Cogito SQL, and related tools
* Design, develop, and optimize reporting content to support organizational objectives and operational decision-making
* Stay current with Epic reporting enhancements and communicate emerging capabilities to stakeholders
* Ensure reporting content is developed and migrated through established governance, release management, and change-control processes
* Mentor developers, analysts, and reporting team members on best practices and advanced reporting techniques
* Support issue resolution and provide guidance for complex technical reporting challenges
* Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
* Active Epic Cogito Tools Administrator certification
* Expert-level experience with Epic Cogito reporting tools, including Reporting Workbench, SlicerDicer, Radar, and Cogito SQL
* Proven experience designing, developing, and supporting clinical, operational, and business reporting solutions within Epic
* Strong SQL development skills, including Oracle SQL and/or Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL), with experience in query design, optimization, troubleshooting, and performance tuning
* Hands-on experience working with Epic Clarity and Caboodle reporting databases
* Ability to architect reporting solutions, establish development standards, and provide technical leadership to developers and analysts
* Experience building SlicerDicer data models, Reporting Workbench reports/templates, Radar dashboards, and Cogito SQL reports
* Strong understanding of healthcare data, reporting workflows, analytics, and operational reporting requirements
* Demonstrated ability to mentor team members, resolve complex reporting challenges, and serve as an escalation point for technical issues
* Experience working within change management, release governance, and CAB processes
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into actionable recommendations for clinical, operational, and business stakeholders
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace
* Preferred: Epic Data Courier Badge, Epic Clinical Data Model Certification, Caboodle Development Certification, Custom SQL Metrics Badge, Custom SlicerDicer Models and Filters Badge, additional Epic Cogito certifications, and experience with Caboodle development, ETL processes, DataMarts, or reporting team leadership
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
