Pay Range: $20 - $21/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle inbound ACD calls, email correspondence, and outbound follow-up communications.
- Resolve customer service inquiries related to claims, billing, eligibility, licensing, commissions, web access, retention, and other account-related issues.
- Deliver a personalized service experience by educating employers, brokers, and members on coverage, products, and available resources.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Perform root cause analysis to identify issues and determine effective resolutions.
- Explain insurance concepts and benefits in a clear, easy-to-understand manner.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of workflows, business processes, and service strategies.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and collaborate with management to implement enhancements.
- Meet or exceed individual and team performance metrics while supporting customer retention initiatives.
Key Requirements and Technology Experience;
- Previous experience in the insurance or related industry.
- Understanding of underwriting risk factors that impact health insurance profitability.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to professionally handle a wide variety of customer inquiries.
- Ability to process complex, time-sensitive information from multiple sources and make sound decisions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated with strong initiative and sound judgment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Team-oriented with the ability to provide guidance on processes, procedures, and products.
- Comfortable giving and receiving constructive feedback.
- Prior experience in Group Benefits or Health Insurance customer service.
- Experience working with employers, brokers, or insurance agencies.
- Proven ability to improve customer satisfaction and retention through effective problem-solving and service delivery.
