Job Description: Senior Storage Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Storage Engineer to design, implement, maintain, and optimize enterprise storage infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have expertise in storage technologies, backup and disaster recovery solutions, performance tuning, and ensuring high availability of critical business systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage enterprise storage solutions.
• Monitor, maintain, and optimize storage infrastructure for performance and reliability.
• Configure and administer SAN, NAS, and object storage environments.
• Plan and execute storage provisioning, migration, and capacity management.
• Implement and maintain backup, recovery, replication, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Troubleshoot storage performance issues and resolve hardware or software incidents.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, network, cloud, and application teams to support business requirements.
• Ensure storage environments meet security, compliance, and availability standards.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and architecture diagrams.
• Provide technical guidance and mentor junior engineers.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of SAN, NAS, and storage virtualization technologies.
• Experience with enterprise storage platforms such as Dell EMC, NetApp, Pure Storage, HPE, IBM, or Hitachi.
• Hands-on experience with Fibre Channel, iSCSI, and storage networking.
• Knowledge of backup and recovery tools such as Veeam, Commvault, NetBackup, or similar solutions.
• Experience with storage monitoring, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
• Familiarity with VMware, Hyper-V, or other virtualization platforms.
• Understanding of Windows and Linux server environments.
• Knowledge of scripting using PowerShell, Bash, or Python for automation.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience with cloud storage services in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Relevant vendor certifications (Dell EMC, NetApp, HPE, VMware, or similar) are highly desirable.
• Experience working in ITIL-based environments.
