Job Title: Senior DevOps Engineer

Purpose and Objective:

SAP America, Inc. seeks a Senior DevOps Engineer at our Palo Alto, CA location to enable seamless software delivery, ensure application health, and optimize operational performance by fostering collaboration across teams.

Expectations and Tasks:

Drive automation, compliance, and best practices to enhance software delivery efficiency and effectiveness. Develop and automate infrastructure and workflows, aligned with best practices and operational goals, to streamline software delivery. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as Application and Platform Engineering, to ensure smooth and frequent software delivery and improve software performance and health. Monitor system performance and work with cross-functional teams to incorporate incident feedback into future updates. Ensure compliance and effectiveness in software delivery and operational standards.

Education and Occupational Experience:

Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or a related field of study and six (6) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation. Alternatively, a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or a related field of study and four (4) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.

Qualifications/Skills and Competencies Experience:

Experience must include four (4) years involving each of the following:

  • Python, Dotnet, C and C++;

  • SAP Cloud operations and Process Improvements;

  • Infrastructure Automation and Infrastructure as a code, including Terraform;

  • Cloud Platforms operations and administration, including AWS, Azure and Google Cloud Platform Clouds;

  • Micro Services Deployment, Testing and Troubleshooting;

  • Continuous Integration and Delivery Pipelines, Docker and Kubernetes Administration;

  • Unix/Shell Scripting;

  • Database Operation, including SQL, HANA, Postgress and Cassandra;

  • SaaS solutions including Apigee, RabbitMQ, Kafka, Redis and EntraID;

  • Artificial Intelligence and Machine learning;

  • Incident and Problem Management; and

  • Agile, Project, and Performance management.

Compensation Range Transparency: The annual base salary range for this position is $159,674 - $269,544. SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP's commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is $180,100 - $306,300. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
