Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced VCF Automation Architect to design automation strategies, governance models, integrations, and self-service solutions supporting VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) 9 adoption and consumption.
The role will focus on automation architecture, integration strategy, customer enablement, and operational maturity.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead customer workshops to define automation requirements, governance, workflows, and self-service models.
- Architect VCF Automation integrations with VCF 9, vSphere, NSX, vSAN, and related components.
- Design self-service catalogs, approval workflows, RBAC, and security policies.
- Develop automation blueprints for VM provisioning, lifecycle management, and infrastructure services.
- Integrate VCF Automation with CI/CD pipelines, configuration management tools, and REST APIs.
- Define automation roadmaps and operational models.
- Oversee consultants responsible for automation builds and validation.
- Create architecture documents, integration specifications, workflow diagrams, runbooks, and standards.
- Provide knowledge transfer and enablement to customer teams.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 8+ years of VMware experience with strong automation expertise.
- Hands-on experience architecting and deploying vRealize Automation / VCF Automation.
- Experience with VCF 5.2+ and exposure to VCF 9.
- Strong knowledge of:
- VMware Orchestrator (vRO)
- PowerShell
- Python
- YAML/JSON
- REST APIs
- Infrastructure-as-Code
- Strong experience with vSphere, NSX, and vSAN.
- Experience with hybrid cloud integrations involving AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Customer-facing consulting and solution architecture experience.
- Experience with DevOps tools and practices such as Jenkins, GitHub, GitLab, and GitOps.

- VCF Automation architecture, sizing, and deployment
- Multi-tenancy and cloud zone strategies
- High availability and disaster recovery
- Automation blueprints and lifecycle workflows
- Day-0, Day-1, and Day-2 automation
- Custom resource actions and extensibility

- Lead automation discovery and requirements workshops.
- Translate business requirements into technical automation strategies.

- Coordinate with infrastructure, operations, VKS, and other architecture teams.
- Oversee consultants and ensure consistent automation standards across workstreams.
- Drive automation maturity, adoption, and continuous improvement.
