Position Overview: client is seeking an experienced and highly capable Senior Systems Engineer to join their Information Technology (IT) team. The Senior Systems Engineer will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining their complex systems to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security.
Key Responsibilities:
· Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
· Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures. Create solution based ‘how-to’ materials for consumption by technical and non-technical staff.
· Manage incidents, problems, and change requests as assigned in ServiceNow.
· Contribute to and maintain system standards.
· Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
· Provide support as an escalation point from Tier 1 requests. Investigate and troubleshoot issues. Provide detailed analysis when escalating issues to tier 3 and architecture teams.
20% Manage small to medium scale projects from conception to completion including timeline, internal/external resources and budget.
· Research and recommend innovative, and where possible, automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage resources and provide economies of scale.

· Analysis and proposals for enhancements to enterprise environment
· Aids in the implementation of enterprise security solutions
· Keep abreast of industry developments affecting the operation of assigned systems and equipment
· Follows change management and change notification procedures
· Provides systems training to tier 1 support personnel.
Qualifications:
Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience as a systems engineer, with a track record of successful system implementations and administration.
Strong knowledge of systems, including servers, virtualization, storage, and backup solutions.
Expertise in system security practices and protocols.
Proficiency in system monitoring and management tools.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Effective communication and leadership abilities.
