Summary

Partnering with Aquent, a leader in talent solutions, we are seeking an exceptional individual to join a premier global investment management firm. This organization is renowned for its deep expertise in investment strategies and its commitment to long-term value creation. As a vital member of their finance team, you will contribute directly to critical strategic decisions that shape the future trajectory of the business, influencing global operations and investment management strategies. This is an unparalleled opportunity to leverage your analytical prowess to drive significant impact within a dynamic and intellectually stimulating environment.

About the Opportunity

We are looking for an intellectually curious and analytically sharp professional to join a dedicated finance team. This pivotal role is distinct from standard corporate finance functions, as it focuses intensely on strategic decision-making, ad-hoc business evaluations, and long-term planning. You will be instrumental in tackling ambiguous, high-impact business questions, from analyzing the financial feasibility of global strategies to modeling complex headcount scenarios. Your insights will directly inform senior leadership, driving the organization?s growth and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead financial modeling and scenario analysis for high-priority ad-hoc initiatives, such as real estate footprint adjustments, software implementations, and organizational headcount planning.
  • Develop robust, dynamic financial models from the ground up, aggregating and structuring complex, multi-source datasets (thousands of rows) in Excel without relying on rigid templates.
  • Translate quantitative outputs into clear, high-impact PowerPoint presentations that effectively communicate key findings, drivers, and recommendations to senior finance leadership.
  • Collaborate with business units to evaluate the financial implications of strategic decisions, linking corporate finance concepts to overall business growth and investment management operations.
  • Work closely with finance directors and managers to refine project frameworks, continuously deepening your understanding of the core drivers of the investment management business.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 5?8 years of experience in Strategic Finance, Corporate Strategy, Investment Banking, Management Consulting, or advanced analytics-driven FP&A roles.
  • Bachelor?s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related quantitative field.
  • Advanced Excel modeling capabilities, including complex formulas, mapping tables, and data aggregation, with a proven ability to build models from scratch using unorganized datasets.
  • Strong PowerPoint skills with a demonstrated ability to transform complex financial outputs into clear, visual stories and executive summaries.
  • Solid understanding of financial hierarchies, cost center structures, General Ledger (GL) account frameworks, and core corporate finance principles.

Soft Skills & Attributes for Success

  • Comfort with Ambiguity: Thrives when presented with open-ended business problems without a predefined blueprint, proactively building structures toward a solution.
  • Intellectual Curiosity: Driven to understand the ?why? behind business operations and how finance decisions drive revenue, rather than simply ?running the numbers.?
  • Self-Motivation & Collaboration: Eager to ask thoughtful questions, challenge the status quo, and collaborate with team members to refine best practices.

Nice to Have

  • Prior exposure to investment management, capital markets, or asset management distribution/sales models.
  • Exposure to cloud-based Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) tools such as SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) or similar corporate planning systems.
  • Familiarity viewing data in PowerBI or Tableau (building dashboards is not required).
