Senior Software Engineer
Location: Urbandale, IA
Duration: 12 months with possible extension

Role Overview

Seeking a Senior SRE to build and support reliable, scalable, and secure cloud-based systems. The role focuses on automation, observability, incident response, and improving system resiliency in an Agile environment.

Responsibilities

Design and improve system reliability, resiliency, performance, and security
Lead incident response and serve as Incident Commander for major outages
Automate failure detection, recovery, and remediation
Define and manage SLIs/SLOs and system metrics
Conduct post-mortems and drive long-term improvements
Collaborate with engineering and product teams
Create and maintain runbooks and playbooks

Requirements

4-7+ years of experience in SRE / Software Engineering
Strong experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform
Monitoring & observability tools (Datadog preferred)
Programming experience in Java, Scala, Python, Go, .NET, or JavaScript
Experience working in Agile environments
Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Education

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience
