-The Service Technician installs, services, and maintains low-voltage security and network systems, including access control, cameras, cabling, and related hardware. This role requires technical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a service team.
Key Responsibilities
-Install, service, and maintain: Access control devices and electrified door hardware
-Surveillance cameras
-Cable pathway systems and low-voltage cabling (component, category, fiber)
-Wireless access points and other security/network devices
-Maintain company tools and equipment.
-Follow all safety standards and best practices.
-Collaborate with service team members and support additional duties as needed.
-Demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow within the security industry.
Minimum Qualifications
-Looking for anyone who wants to be in a trade and grow with the company. Someone who takes pride in what they do, want to learn and grow their career
-NO DIRECT experience required but best candidates have worked in trades before or understands the type of environment.
-Must have experience using hand and power tools, comfortable working on ladders and in lifts.
-High school diploma or equivalent.
-Valid driver's license; must be 21+ to operate company vehicles.
-Ability to pass background check and drug screening.
Skills & Abilities
-Proficiency using installation tools (measuring tape, level, etc.).
-Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
-Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks.
-Ability to work flexible hours (nights, weekends, overnights as needed).
-Comfortable working at heights (ladders, man-lifts).
-Professional appearance and conduct.
-Desire to learn and grow in the security systems industry.
A3 has currently over 13,000 hours of work scheduled for 2026 and that is just the beginning. They are doing work for each County around Charleston (Charleston, Berkley, Dorchester), projects within the school districts as well as a major project at the Charleston Airport. For the airport, technicians will be installing door brakes, sensors, crash bars and readers. They may also do service work after initial construction is finished. The airport work should last 3-6 months. Technicians would park at Tanger Outlet Mall and be picked up by the FTE in an A3 van to ride together to the jobsite. Other techs will be working within the different school districts and county buildings. These could be hands on or projects where A3 is acting as the GC. Hours are typically 7:00-5:30pm. They work 4 10 HR DAYs, sometimes on Fridays and rarely any work on Sat-Sun. If work becomes slow in Charleston, techs will meet at the A3 office in Summerville and drive in a company van to other site locations around the Lowcountry. Techs will need the basic tools but A3 will provide the specialized tools and PPE.

The need is 4-6 potentially grow it to 8 and the projects will run 6-9mths.

We are seeking four (4) technicians immediately, with the potential to add two (2) additional technicians as project demands require, who have some or all of the following experience:
Structured cabling (Cat5/Cat6, fiber, low voltage)
VMS installations (IP/analog cameras, head-end equipment)
Access control systems (Lenel, S2, Genetec, Software House, Avigilon)
Door hardware installation (electrified locks, readers, strikes, crash bars)
Familiarity with Allegion and ASSA ABLOY hardware
Candidates should have commercial experience

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr.
