Job SummaryThe Technology Support Specialist is responsible for supporting agency hardware, systems software, and application portfolios. This role includes maintaining data dictionaries, installing and upgrading equipment and software, supporting data conversions, managing system utilities and change control, and coordinating problem resolution with internal and external support teams. The specialist serves as a key point of contact for technical troubleshooting and end-user support.
Key Responsibilities- Identify, diagnose, and troubleshoot defective hardware and equipment
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve software and application-related issues
- Determine and resolve hardware issues prior to deployment
- Install, configure, and upgrade hardware and software
- Maintain system documentation, including data dictionaries and inventories
- Support data conversions and system utilities
- Follow change control procedures
- Coordinate issue resolution and escalate to appropriate support teams when needed
- Provide high-quality technical support to end users at all organizational levels
Knowledge & Experience- Strong ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and application issues
- Experience working with network rooms and related infrastructure
- Understanding of network operating systems
- Familiarity with IT service management concepts and practices (e.g., ITIL framework)

Minimum RequirementsEducation:- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
Education Substitutions:- Associate's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience, or
- High school diploma with 4+ years of relevant experience
Certifications (Preferred)- Technical certifications such as MOS, MTA, MCP, A+, MCITP, or similar
- General understanding of network operating systems
Typical Working Conditions & Physical Requirements- Standard daytime business hours, Monday through Friday
- Primarily office-based work, with field support responsibilities
- Ability to climb ladders
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
- Frequent travel required
- Must possess a valid driver's license, reliable transportation and required motor vehicle insurance
Work Environment- On-site technical support for office and administrative facilities
- Interaction with a wide range of end users, including leadership
- Field-based role requiring travel throughout the assigned coverage area
- Mileage is reimbursed in accordance with standard reimbursement rates
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Morehead, KY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $24.00/hr.
