Job SummaryWe are seeking a Senior Database Engineer to support the strategic expansion and operational excellence of next-generation database platforms. This role focuses on MongoDB, EDB PostgreSQL, and YugabyteDB environments that support mission-critical enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership, drive automation initiatives, and influence the future direction of database technologies while ensuring performance, availability, security, and scalability.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and contribute to database engineering initiatives involving MongoDB, EDB PostgreSQL, and YugabyteDB
- Design, implement, and maintain highly complex database architectures, including high availability and replication solutions
- Lead advanced data modeling, data mapping, integration, and capacity planning efforts
- Perform end-to-end database lifecycle activities including planning, design, implementation, maintenance, and governance
- Design and implement database security controls aligned with CIS benchmarks and auditing standards
- Evaluate, design, and certify next-generation database technologies
- Provide technical consultation and strategic recommendations to management and multiple stakeholders
- Develop database policies, standards, procedures, and best practices
- Drive operational automation to improve reliability, reduce manual intervention, and decrease MTTR
- Support operational excellence through adoption of standardized processes and automation frameworks
- Participate in an on-call DBA rotation to support high-tier applications
- Act as a subject matter expert by maintaining deep and broad technical knowledge of supported database platforms
- Lead projects with enterprise-wide impact and cross-functional collaboration
Required Qualifications- 4+ years of Database Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, consulting, training, military service, or education
- 5+ years of hands-on database operations experience with MongoDB, EDB PostgreSQL, and YugabyteDB
- Experience designing and supporting highly available, scalable, and secure database environments
- Strong understanding of database performance tuning, replication, backup, and recovery strategies
Preferred Qualifications- Programming or scripting experience, preferably in Python
- Hands-on experience with automation frameworks and tooling
- Experience leveraging AI or intelligent automation in database or operational environments
- Financial services industry experience or prior Wells Fargo contractor experience
Additional Information- This role directly supports enterprise automation initiatives designed to reduce human error, improve SLA adherence, and enhance operational efficiency
- Interview process includes a one-hour Microsoft Teams panel interview (in-person interview for local candidates may be required)
- Participation in a hybrid return-to-office schedule is required
