Location: Remote ( with preference that candidates be in or close to PA, KY or RI)
Contract: W2 only, 6 month contract
Pay: $57/hour + optional medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match
 
Overview
Our client is seeking an engineer to support the rollout of its Volt/VAR Optimization (VVO) application within its Distribution Management System (DMS). This role involves assisting in the implementation of advanced system capabilities to optimize voltage regulation, minimize reactive power losses, and maximize distribution capacity. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to a critical project that enhances system efficiency and reliability.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the roll out of the Volt/VAR Optimization (VVO) application within the Distribution Management System (DMS).
• Experience with any type of inbox validation; Litmus, Email on Acid, MailChimp, Convey experience is a plus
• Support the implementation of specific DMS and remote device inputs processed through computer algorithms.
• Help automatically dispatch commands to remotely operated voltage regulation equipment.
• Maintain system-wide distribution voltage levels to PUC limits.
• Minimize reactive power losses and provide unity power factor.
• Maximize distribution system capacity.
• Support the completion of the VVO capability rollout, working with guidance and conferring with supervision or other team experts as needed.

• Minimum of 2 years related experience in the energy industry.
• Strong verbal and written communication and facilitation skills.
• Knowledge of Distribution Management Systems.
• Basic knowledge of system operating requirements and limitations, with emphasis on distribution system management and operations—three-phase power, power flow, communications equipment, and metering.
