Role Overview
We are seeking a Project Manager to support a supply chain optimization initiative within a large healthcare environment. This role involves standardizing inventory management processes across multiple hospital sites. The ideal candidate will operate in an agile project environment, work independently in fast-changing situations, and partner directly with market-level supply chain leaders and hospital site teams.
This is a partially remote contract position requiring residency in California. The role requires regular onsite presence at various locations in Southern California (Los Angeles, San Diego, Riverside).
Key Responsibilities
Project Overview - PAR Optimization- Project name: PAR Optimization
- Scope:
- Standardize PAR rooms (supplier rooms where nurses access gauze, medical supplies, etc.)
- Establish and optimize min/max inventory levels
- Drive standardization across 41 hospitals
- Responsibilities include:
- Showing site operations teams what is changing
- Delivering hands-on training
- Transitioning ownership to on-site staff
- Ongoing focus on:
- Analyzing usage trends and deductions
- Identifying opportunities for process improvement
Day-to-Day Responsibilities- Support an agile program/project environment
- Comfortable working in fast-changing, ambiguous situations
- Operate independently and adapt quickly ("work on the cuff")
- Partner directly with:
- Market-level supply chain leaders
- Site directors
- Multiple hospital site teams
Required Experience & Skills- Supply chain background required, including:
- Logistics and transportation
- Inventory management
- ERP systems
- Leading supply chain projects or teams
- ERP experience required (e.g., PeopleSoft, OneLink, SAP)
- Finance/Accounting exposure strongly preferred
- Strong Excel skills, including:
- Pivot tables
- Basic VLOOKUPs
- Data analysis
- Broad proficiency across Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Education & Experience Level- Minimum education: Bachelors
- Emphasis is on years of experience (YOE) rather than formal education.
