this position will sit hybrid ONSITE in Downtown Denver Tuesday - Thursday.Description:Our customer is a financial services distribution company, and currently undergoing a major digital transformation. They are building a unified, agent-centric platform to replace fragmented systems with seamless SaaS integrations and modern cloud-native solutions.
Role Overview
The Senior Scrum Master will play a critical role in enabling Agile delivery across cross-functional teams as we modernize their technology ecosystem. This position is responsible for driving transparency, optimizing flow, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement while aligning team execution to program objectives.
Responsibilities
Facilitate Scrum ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, Retrospective) with rigor and purpose, ensuring actionable outcomes and transparency.
Coach teams and stakeholders on Agile principles, reinforcing working agreements, Definition of Ready/Done, and INVEST-quality user stories.
Remove impediments, manage dependencies, and escalate risks early to maintain delivery predictability.
Leverage Agile tooling (e.g., Jira) to maintain accurate backlogs, capture sprint data, and report delivery metrics for informed decision-making.
Partner with Product Owners to ensure a well-refined backlog at least one sprint ahead, promoting clarity of acceptance criteria.
Collaborate with Program Managers and adjacent teams to support PI objectives, release planning, and cross-team synchronization.
Drive continuous improvement through data-informed retrospectives that enhance quality and stakeholder value.
Support compliance and governance expectations tied to SDLC and program delivery standards.
Preferred Skills:
- Metrics & Reporting: Move beyond manual Excel-based tracking and leverage automated reporting directly in Jira.
- Standards Alignment: Ensure consistency with existing standards set by Delivery Management/Project Management team to avoid fragmented approaches.
- Process Maturity: Drive improvements in how we measure, report, and interpret agile metrics, supporting BAU and strategic goals.
- Collaboration: Work closely with both IT App Dev Teams and Delivery Management/Project Management groups to maintain alignment and transparency across teams.
Experience with SAFe or similar scaling frameworks.
Exposure to enterprise SDLC governance and Jira data integration.
Additional Agile certifications and experience coaching multiple teams.
Background in regulated or financial services environments.

Additional Skills & Qualifications3-5+ years as a Scrum Master or Agile Delivery Lead supporting cross-functional software/product teams.
Expertise in Scrum and Agile practices with proven ability to coach teams and stakeholders.
Proficiency with Agile tooling (Jira) and delivery metrics; strong backlog management skills.
Recognized Agile certification (PSM I/II, CSM, or SAFe SM).
Strong facilitation, servant leadership, and communication skills.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $60.00 - $65.00/hr.
