Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a for a Power Platform Administrator contract position with one of our baking clients. REMOTE
We are seeking a highly skilled Power Platform Administrator to oversee the administration, governance, support, and continuous improvement of Microsoft's Power Platform ecosystem, including Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, and Dynamics 365 applications. This role will serve as both a platform administrator and a trusted advisor to our user community, ensuring platform stability, security, compliance, and adoption across the organization.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with excellent communication and troubleshooting skills. They will be responsible for managing platform environments, supporting application lifecycle management (ALM), implementing governance and security controls, troubleshooting complex issues, and mentoring citizen developers to build scalable and supportable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Power Platform Administration
- Administer and maintain Power Platform environments across development, testing, and production.
- Configure and manage environments, Dataverse, security roles, data policies, capacity, and platform settings.
- Monitor platform health, performance, usage, licensing, and capacity utilization.
- Manage environment lifecycle activities, including provisioning, configuration, backup, recovery, and upgrades.
- Implement and maintain governance standards, policies, and best practices for Power Platform solutions.
- Configure and manage Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies and security controls.
- Support tenant-wide Power Platform administration and compliance requirements.
- Develop operational procedures and maintain platform documentation.
Application Lifecycle Management (ALM)
- Administer and support solution deployment processes across environments.
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot ALM pipelines and deployment automation.
- Support source control, release management, and environment promotion activities.
- Assist development teams in troubleshooting deployment, dependency, and configuration issues.
- Ensure adherence to organizational standards for solution packaging and releases.
Security and Governance
- Manage security roles, permissions, sharing models, and access control within Dataverse and Dynamics 365.
- Review and enforce governance standards for applications, flows, custom connectors, and integrations.
- Conduct platform audits and ensure compliance with security and operational requirements.
- Collaborate with security and infrastructure teams to address risks and vulnerabilities.
User Community Support
- Serve as a primary escalation point for Power Platform and Dynamics 365 support issues.
- Troubleshoot application, flow, environment, integration, and security-related problems.
- Provide technical guidance and support to business users and citizen developers.
- Create and maintain knowledge articles, training materials, and support documentation.
- Facilitate user adoption through training sessions, office hours, and community engagement activities.
- Assist users with solution design reviews and promote development best practices.
Citizen Developer Enablement
- Mentor and support citizen developers building Power Apps, Power Automate flows, and Dataverse solutions.
- Review applications and automations for maintainability, security, and compliance.
- Provide guidance on architecture, performance optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Promote reusable patterns, components, and governance standards.
Dynamics 365 Administration and Support
- Install, configure, and maintain Dynamics 365 applications and related components.
- Troubleshoot Dynamics 365 functionality, integrations, security, and performance issues.
- Support configuration changes, upgrades, and application enhancements.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to resolve functional and technical challenges.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years of experience administering Microsoft Power Platform environments.
- Experience with:
- Power Apps (Canvas and Model-Driven Apps)
- Power Automate
- Dataverse
- Power Platform governance and security
- Experience configuring and supporting ALM processes and deployment pipelines.
- Experience administering and supporting Dynamics 365 applications.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of environment management, security roles, permissions, and access control.
- Experience with platform monitoring, reporting, and operational support.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Power Platform Center of Excellence (CoE) Starter Kit.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Entra ID, Azure services, and Microsoft 365 administration.
- Experience with PowerShell and Power Platform administration scripting.
- Experience with solution architecture and enterprise application governance.
- Knowledge of API integrations, custom connectors, and enterprise data sources.
- Microsoft Power Platform and/or Dynamics 365 certifications.
