Overview

Microsoft is seeking an experienced Content Coordinator 5 to support our Consumer Web team in building, quality assuring, and publishing web experiences that power high-visibility product and marketing launches. This role is responsible for the end-to-end page authoring process within a modern, component-based content ecosystem and serves as a critical partner across content operations, design, engineering, program management, and localization teams.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in Contentful (or a comparable headless CMS), outstanding attention to detail, and a strong understanding of scalable web publishing processes. This person will own page creation from build through publish while ensuring all content meets Microsoft's standards for quality, accessibility, SEO, and brand consistency.
About the Team

The Consumer Web team is responsible for managing web content production, content authoring, publishing, quality assurance, and website updates across Microsoft's digital properties. We support major product launches, sprint releases, marketing campaigns, and website enhancements through Contentful and other content management platforms.

As a Content Coordinator 5, you will play a central role in delivering polished customer-facing web experiences while helping scale a modern, modular content architecture built on reusable components and design systems.
Key Responsibilities
Content Authoring & Publishing
  • Build, author, edit, and publish web pages in Contentful CMS using approved templates, components, and assets.
  • Assemble pages utilizing reusable content modules and design-system components.
  • Implement copy updates, upload and map assets, and create market-specific and Rest-of-World (ROW) page variations.
  • Manage content publication activities to support product launches, campaign releases, and ongoing site updates.
Quality Assurance
  • Own pre-publication QA activities, including:
    • Content accuracy reviews
    • Link validation
    • Asset verification
    • Cross-browser and responsive rendering checks
    • Accessibility and template compliance reviews
  • Resolve defects and incorporate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) feedback before publishing.
  • Maintain high publishing accuracy with minimal post-launch issues.
Localization & Global Publishing
  • Support localization workflows, including:
    • Localization file creation
    • Localization handoff and handback processes
    • Multi-market content publishing and validation
  • Coordinate global page readiness and localized content updates.
SEO & Content Optimization
  • Incorporate copy-level SEO recommendations into authored content.
  • Ensure content aligns with established SEO, accessibility, and brand guidelines.
  • Maintain consistent implementation of metadata and content publishing best practices.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner closely with:
    • Content Operations
    • Product Marketing
    • Program Management
    • Design
    • Front-End Engineering
    • External Agencies and Vendors
  • Provide launch support and participate in release planning and sprint execution.
  • Identify opportunities to improve authoring workflows, scalability, and publishing efficiency.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience with Contentful or a comparable headless CMS platform.
  • 10+ years of experience building web pages using component-based templates and design systems.
  • 10+ years of experience performing web content QA, validation, and publishing activities.
  • Strong understanding of content authoring workflows and modern CMS architectures.
  • Experience managing content from initial build through publication with minimal oversight.
  • Familiarity with localization processes and multi-market content delivery.
  • Working knowledge of on-page SEO best practices.
  • Understanding of accessibility standards and digital publishing requirements.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent launches.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Direct experience with Contentful in an enterprise-scale environment.
  • Experience working with Storybook or similar component libraries.
  • Experience within a marketing, digital production, or agency environment.
  • Familiarity with content modeling concepts and a high-level understanding of APIs.
  • Experience supporting large-scale product marketing launches.
  • Knowledge of modern web publishing and component-driven authoring ecosystems.
