Job Title: Data Archival Developer
Location - Secaucus, NJ or Chantilly, VA(Hybrid)
Role Overview:
The Data Archival Developer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining data archival solutions to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (FDA, EMA, HIPAA, SOX) and organizational data retention policies. This role focuses on secure, efficient, and compliant archival of structured and unstructured data across enterprise systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop data archival strategies for applications, databases, and file systems in alignment with data retention policies.
Implement archival solutions ensuring data integrity, security, and audit readiness.
Develop scripts and automation for data extraction, transformation, and migration to archival storage.
Ensure compliance with GxP, HIPAA, 21 CFR Part 11, and other applicable regulations.
Collaborate with DBAs, application teams, and compliance teams to define archival requirements.
Optimize archival processes for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
Maintain documentation including Archival Design Documents, SOPs, and Validation Reports.
Support data retrieval requests and ensure timely restoration of archived data when required.
Participate in system validation (CSV) and periodic reviews of archival solutions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
3 6 years of experience in data management, archival solutions, or database development.
Strong knowledge of SQL, ETL tools, and scripting languages (Python, Shell).
Familiarity with data retention regulations, GxP compliance, and data integrity principles.
Experience with cloud storage solutions (AWS S3, Azure Blob, Google Cloud Platform) and on-prem archival systems.
Understanding of encryption standards, RBAC, and secure data handling.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with pharma/life sciences data archival (clinical, manufacturing, QC systems).
Knowledge of data lifecycle management tools and ILM frameworks.
Certifications in Data Governance, Cloud Platforms, or CSV are a plus.
