StaffRight Associates is recruiting for a visionary Sensing and Communications Scientist to pioneer next-generation maritime defense solutions. In this high-impact role, you will bridge the gap between theoretical physics and practical engineering to protect national security interests.

You will join an elite multidisciplinary environment where you are not just a cog in a machine—you are a technical architect shaping the future of subsea intelligence, from initial conceptual modeling through to the deployment of integrated prototypes in the field.


What You’ll Do

  • Architect sophisticated underwater acoustic frameworks and communication protocols to meet complex maritime objectives.

  • Champion the full lifecycle of innovative research and development initiatives, ensuring technical milestones align with strategic defense needs.

  • Synthesize efforts across diverse engineering teams to overcome intricate system design hurdles and meet rigorous performance benchmarks.

  • Orchestrate and execute experimental maritime trials to validate system efficacy in real-world environments.

  • Engineer high-fidelity prototypes by applying first-principle analysis to complex hardware and software integration.


What You Bring

  • Advanced Academic Foundation: Holds a Master’s degree or PhD in Electrical, Mechanical, or Ocean Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related quantitative field.

  • Acoustic Mastery: Demonstrated expertise in designing or operating underwater communication systems and sonar signal processing.

  • Technical Versatility: Deep proficiency in both digital and analog circuitry, complemented by a mastery of fundamental mathematical and physical principles.

  • Strategic Collaboration: Proven track record of partnering with senior technical stakeholders to translate user requirements into functional technological breakthroughs.

  • Operational Insight (Desired): Familiarity with Navy undersea warfare operations, maritime resource management, or the oversight of multi-million dollar R&D budgets.

  • System Design Depth (Desired): Hands-on experience with custom PCB development, embedded firmware, and sophisticated data acquisition pipelines.
