The Data Center Infrastructure Engineer will design and sustain mission-critical data center environments for the federal sector. The role will support secure, high-availability operations across servers, storage, networking, and facility systems. The engineer will contribute hands-on expertise to improve reliability, performance, resiliency, and operational excellence in high-visibility environments. The position requires disciplined execution, clear risk communication, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

This is a full-time, permanent opportunity, offering a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package. Qualified applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis.

Salary: $170,000 - $230,000/ yr. w2

Responsibilities:
Responsibilities
  • Use enterprise data center technologies to manage and operate servers, storage, networking, and power systems supporting mission-critical environments.
  • Support and sustain high-availability operations by monitoring infrastructure health, responding to incidents, and troubleshooting complex hardware and facility issues.
  • Design, implement, and improve data center infrastructure solutions that increase reliability, performance, and resiliency.
  • Participate in Agile execution, planning, and technical discussions with hands-on contributions.
  • Identify risks, constraints, and capacity concerns and communicate mitigation strategies and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute infrastructure changes safely and with minimal operational impact.
  • Apply best practices for security, availability, and operational excellence in secure environments.
  • Establish and maintain customer trust through disciplined execution, ownership, and technical excellence.

Experience Requirements:
Experience Requirements
  • Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • DoD 8140 certification aligned to the 451 System Administrator work role, such as Security+, Cloud+, SSCP, CASP+, or CISSP.
  • 8+ years designing, implementing, and managing geographically dispersed data center infrastructure in enterprise or mission-critical environments.
  • Proven experience ensuring reliability, scalability, and efficiency of data center operations, including servers, storage, networking, power, and environmental resource requirements.
  • Hands-on administration of virtualized data center platforms, including VMware or equivalent enterprise virtualization technologies.
  • Operational experience managing compute, storage, and network infrastructure, including capacity planning, performance optimization, and lifecycle management.
  • Experience supporting high-availability data center operations, including monitoring, fault isolation, and incident response.
  • Ability to contribute immediately with minimal ramp-up in a mission-critical operational environment.
  • VMware VCP-DCV or equivalent data center platform certification and Security+.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related engineering field. Relevant experience may substitute where appropriate.
