Job Details

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
  • Ensure compliance with all internal processes.
  • Analyze and report on financial status including income statement variances, communicating financial results to management, budget preparation, and analysis.
  • Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.
  • Oversee financial transactions and processing.
  • Audit work to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and laws.
  • Assess current practices and procedures, and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop staff members.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and changes in regulations.
  • Work closely with internal and external auditors to ensure proper compliance with all regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or professional accreditation such as certified public accountant (CPA) or certified management accountant (CMA) is highly desirable.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior accounting role.
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and General Ledger (GL) functions and procedures.
  • Solid experience in managing and overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite, particularly in advanced Excel functions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines.
  • Proven ability to supervise and lead a team.
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to make sound judgement calls.
  • Experience in a public accounting firm is a plus.
