A Brief Overview

The US LBM Manager - Application Engineering is responsible for leading the day-to-day operation of enterprise business applications, overseeing application engineers and release management to ensure systems are stable, controlled, and executed consistently. This role strengthens how engineering and release work is performed by improving standards, enforcing process discipline, and reducing repeat issues. This person ensures production changes are predictable, well-tested, and properly documented while driving steady improvement in system performance and operational consistency. This role establishes operational standards, defines execution expectations, and ensures consistent performance across supported applications. This person provides clear direction on how systems are managed, configured and how releases are executed, creating a disciplined and repeatable operating model.

What you will do
  • Lead and manage application engineering, release management, and application project staff including coaching, performance feedback, and development.
  • Establish clear expectations for how enterprise applications are configured, supported, and maintained.
  • Oversee day-to-day operational support for production business applications to ensure stability and reliability.
  • Own application release planning, coordination, and execution across supported systems.
  • Ensure changes meet defined requirements for testing, validation, approval, and documentation prior to deployment.
  • Lead incident response activities and ensure effective coordination during production issues
  • Identify operational risks and gaps in processes, controls, or documentation.
  • Partner with platform, infrastructure, security, and development teams to support application operations.
  • Support audits, compliance activities, and change controls as required.
  • Scope of applications include enterprise ERP, financial systems, and Microsoft 365 platforms.

Education Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Computer Science or relevant experience.

Experience Qualifications
  • 7+ years supporting or configuring enterprise business applications.
  • 3+ years leading technical or operational teams.
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing application releases, deployments, or formal change management processes.
  • Hands-on experience operating in environments with defined SLAs, change controls, or compliance requirements.
  • Proven track record of improving application stability, reducing repeat incidents, or increasing operational consistency.
  • Experience partnering with cross-functional teams including infrastructure, security, vendors, and business stakeholders.

Skills and Abilities
  • Working knowledge of enterprise business application operations.
  • Ability to define, document, and enforce operational standards, procedures, and runbooks.
  • Solid understanding of incident management practices, root-cause analysis, and prevention-focused problem resolution.
  • Ability to analyze operational metrics and use data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Ability to manage work intake, prioritize competing demands, and allocate team capacity effectively.
  • Clear verbal communication skills when explaining technical issues, risks, and decisions to non-technical stakeholders.
