Lead Mobile Quality Engineer (Hybrid)

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Lead Mobile Quality Engineer (Hybrid) in Birmingham, AL.

Summary:
This role focuses on ensuring the quality, scalability, and performance of native iOS and Android mobile applications while mentoring other quality engineers and helping drive best practices across the testing organization. You will work closely with development, product, and architecture teams to improve testing frameworks, automation coverage, and overall quality practices across mobile initiatives. While this role provides technical leadership and mentoring, it does not include direct people management responsibilities.

Primary Responsibilities:
* Provide technical leadership and guidance for mobile quality engineering initiatives
* Mentor and coach other quality engineers on testing strategies, automation frameworks, and quality best practices
* Design and implement test automation strategies for native iOS and Android mobile applications
* Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks using XCUI Test and Espresso
* Oversee the design and execution of manual, automated, API, and performance testing strategies
* Lead quality engineering efforts related to mobile application releases and deployments
* Perform and guide performance testing using tools such as LoadRunner
* Ensure comprehensive test coverage across mobile features, APIs, and integrations
* Collaborate with engineering leadership to identify opportunities to improve quality processes, automation, and testing infrastructure
* Work closely with development teams to troubleshoot defects and ensure high-quality releases
* Provide clear reporting and communication regarding quality metrics, test coverage, and release readiness
* Participate in Agile ceremonies and help guide the team toward efficient testing practices

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
* 7+ years of experience in software quality engineering or software testing
* Significant experience testing native mobile applications (iOS and Android)
* Demonstrated experience leading or mentoring other engineers in quality engineering practices
* Strong experience with API testing, ideally supporting .NET-based services
* Experience with qTest for test management
* Experience with Sauce Labs or similar mobile device testing platforms
* Experience building automation using XCUI Test (iOS) and Espresso (Android)
* Experience conducting performance testing with LoadRunner
* Experience working in Agile Scrum environments
* Experience testing applications that integrate with third-party APIs and libraries
* Familiarity with Swift or Kotlin and native mobile architecture
* Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles
* Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills
* Ability to mentor engineers and drive adoption of automation and quality engineering best practices

Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience supporting large-scale enterprise mobile applications
* Experience in financial services or highly regulated industries
* Experience improving test automation frameworks and quality engineering maturity across teams

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
