Summary

Our client, a state company, is seeking an AS/400 System Administrator in Los Angeles, CA.

Job Title: AS/400 System Administrator
Location: Los Angeles, CA (Remote role; occasional onsite requirement for fingerprinting)
Duration: 12 Months with possibility of extension
Pay Rate Range: $70 to $80 per hour (depending on experience)

The AS/400 System Administrator should possess the following skills and competencies::

Manage day-to-day administration of IBM AS/400 (IBM i) systems including server, system, and security operations
Develop, test, and implement programs on AS/400 or integrate data into existing/new systems
Support system performance, monitoring, and troubleshooting activities
Maintain disaster recovery processes, including Power 8 to Dell EMC VNX storage connectivity
Ensure system integrity, security compliance, and backup reliability

Requirements:

Minimum 3 years of recent experience administering IBM AS/400 (IBM i), preferably Version 7.3 or higher
Hands-on experience with AS/400 development, coding, testing, and system integration
Experience with Power 8 systems and Dell EMC VNX storage for backup/disaster recovery
Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience) + at least one IBM i (AS/400) training course completed
