We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Software Data Quality Engineer to join the team of our exceptional client. This role focuses on ensuring the quality, accuracy, and reliability of complex data pipelines, integrations, and data-driven applications through a combination of automation, exploratory testing, and data validation.
This is not a traditional UI testing role. Instead, we''re seeking a technical Quality Engineer who enjoys working with data, automation frameworks, and modern cloud technologies. The ideal candidate will have strong Python and SQL skills, experience building and maintaining test automation, and the ability to validate complex data processing workflows from input through output.

What will your day look like?
As a Senior Software Data Quality Engineer, you will:
• Design, develop, and maintain automated testing solutions for data pipelines, integrations, and processing workflows
• Validate data inputs, transformations, business rules, and outputs to ensure data quality and accuracy
• Partner closely with developers and technical teams to understand new functionality and identify appropriate testing strategies
• Build and enhance Python-based automation frameworks and test scripts
• Execute exploratory testing to understand system behavior and identify opportunities for automation
• Develop and maintain SQL queries used for data validation, reconciliation, and test verification
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to automation framework improvements
• Investigate data quality issues, identify root causes, and collaborate on remediation efforts
• Validate data services, API-like integrations, and processing workflows to ensure expected business outcomes
• Create and maintain test plans, test data, testing documentation, and quality metrics
• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on expanding automation coverage and test efficiency
• Collaborate within Agile teams during planning, sprint execution, and release activities
• Communicate testing results, risks, and recommendations to both technical and business stakeholders
You will be a good fit for this role if you have:
• Experience in Quality Assurance, Software Quality Engineering, SDET, or Automation Testing roles
• Strong Python programming skills for test automation, data validation, and framework development
• Strong SQL skills with the ability to write and troubleshoot complex queries
• Experience validating large datasets and testing data processing workflows
• Hands-on experience building, maintaining, or expanding automation frameworks
• Experience designing and executing test strategies, test plans, and automated test cases
• Experience with exploratory testing and risk-based testing approaches
• Experience testing data pipelines, integrations, processing logic, and business rules
• Experience with GitHub and GitHub Actions
• Experience working with cloud-based environments, preferably AWS
• Experience documenting and communicating testing results, risks, and quality metrics
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to thrive in an Agile development environment
• Ability to learn and adapt quickly in a fast-moving technical environment
Nice-to-Haves
• Experience with Databricks
• Experience with PySpark
• Experience testing data warehouses, data lakes, or modern analytics platforms
• Exposure to Snowflake or similar cloud-based data platforms
• Experience testing APIs, data services, or integration services
• Knowledge of data quality validation frameworks and methodologies
• Experience with data warehouse or Delta Lake architectures
• Familiarity with MySQL or other relational database platforms
• Experience supporting CI/CD and automated quality gates
• Experience working with Jira, Confluence, Slack, Microsoft Teams, or similar collaboration tools
