Our Challenge:

A Lead Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) is responsible for leading the testing efforts for software products, ensuring high-quality delivery through automation and manual testing. They design, develop, and implement comprehensive test strategies and frameworks, mentor team members, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve testing processes and software quality.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors.

In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Piscataway, NJ is $100K - $110K /year & benefits (see below).

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of automation test frameworks, tools, and scripts to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
  • Develop, execute, and maintain automated and manual test plans, test cases, and workflows.
  • Identify, document, and track defects, and collaborate with developers to resolve issues.
  • Lead and mentor a team of SDETs, providing technical guidance and best practices.
  • Collaborate with product managers, developers, and QA to understand requirements and ensure testability.
  • Perform code reviews and ensure automation scripts are efficient, reusable, and maintainable.
  • Drive continuous improvement of testing processes, tools, and quality metrics.
  • Conduct performance, load, and security testing as needed.
  • Report on testing progress, quality status, and risk assessments to stakeholders.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, testing tools, and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in test automation, especially using frameworks like Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, or similar.
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, C#, Python, or JavaScript.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing test automation frameworks.
  • Deep understanding of SDLC, QA processes, and testing methodologies.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into build processes.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
  • Leadership experience and ability to mentor a team.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Preferred, but not required:

  • Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Knowledge of performance and security testing tools.
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Certifications like ISTQB, Certified ScrumMaster, or similar are a plus.
