Our Challenge:
An Appian QA Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of applications developed on the Appian platform. They design and execute test plans, automate testing processes, and work closely with developers and business analysts to identify and resolve issues, ensuring that the Appian solutions meet organizational standards and requirements.

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors.
In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Piscataway, NJ is $100K - $110K/year & benefits (see below).
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain test plans, test cases, and automation scripts for Appian applications.
- Perform manual testing to identify bugs, inconsistencies, and usability issues.
- Automate repetitive testing tasks using suitable testing tools and frameworks.
- Collaborate with Appian developers and business analysts to understand application functionalities and requirements.
- Conduct functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing.
- Track, report, and verify bugs and issues, ensuring timely resolution.
- Ensure testing coverage and application performance meet quality standards.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of test cases, test results, and defect reports.
- Support deployment activities by performing pre-release testing.
- Continuously improve testing processes and adopt best practices for QA lifecycle.
Requirements:
- Experience in testing BPM applications, preferably on the Appian platform.
- Strong understanding of QA methodologies, testing types, and lifecycle.
- Knowledge of automated testing tools and scripting languages (e.g., Selenium, Java, Python).
- Familiarity with Appian's platform architecture, components, and deployment processes.
- Experience with API testing and integrations.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Attention to detail and a rigorous approach to testing.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Preferred Certifications:
- Appian Certified Developer or Designer (optional but advantageous)
- ISTQB or equivalent QA certification.
