Genesis10 is currently seeking a Senior Python Software Engineer - Hybrid position with a Global Financial Institution located in New York, NY. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. This role is for a senior Python Software Engineer to work within a trading technology team. The position involves front-to-back design, development, testing, and production support for associated projects and initiatives. The ideal candidate will work closely with business users, BAs, PMs, QA, and other development teams to deliver enhancements and provide creative solutions for client flow, automated portfolio management, and quantitative analytics.
Responsibilities: - Design, develop, test, and support applications and projects from front to back
- Work closely with business users and technology partners to deliver enhancements
- Provide creative solutions for client flow, automated portfolio management, and quantitative analytics
- Apply an automation-first mindset across the software development lifecycle, particularly around shift-left testing
Requirements: - 7+ years of experience working on enterprise-scale applications developed primarily using Python in a Linux environment
- Broad exposure to well-known Python libraries
- Practical experience within an Electronic Trading environment in a financial institution or similar
- Strong communication skills with an ability to communicate with stakeholders outside of Technology
- Passion for engineering and solving problems in a multi-faceted role
Desired skills: - Experience with C++ and/or Java development
- Experience with quantitative trading, including analytics in Python or q/kdb+
- Knowledge in architecting applications for Cloud and/or Containerized Environments
- Practical, hands-on experience with Agile and test-driven development
Pay range: $61.60 - $69.60 per hour
