Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive Business Analyst with strong financial reporting and data analysis skills to support an IT department's financial tracking, reporting, and operational activities.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with advanced Excel, Power BI dashboards, budget tracking, forecasting, expense management, and management reporting. This role requires someone who can organize financial data, improve reporting visibility, coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders, and independently follow through on outstanding items and deadlines.

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organized professional who enjoys working with financial data, improving processes, and providing leadership with accurate, actionable reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Track and maintain IT budgets, forecasts, expenses, invoices, accruals, and capital expenditures.
  • Develop and maintain Excel reports, financial trackers, and Power BI dashboards to improve visibility into spending and budget performance.
  • Monitor vendor contracts, renewals, invoices, and recurring monthly payments.
  • Consolidate project status updates, financial information, and vendor expenses into management reports.
  • Analyze financial data, identify discrepancies, track variances, and follow up on missing information.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, vendors, and department stakeholders to collect and validate financial and operational data.
  • Support budget monitoring, forecasting, expense tracking, and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Prepare presentations and reporting materials for management reviews and portfolio updates.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, trackers, and reporting processes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting accuracy, operational efficiency, and financial tracking processes.
  • Manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and proactively follow through on outstanding deliverables.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience as a Business Analyst, Financial Analyst, Reporting Analyst, Operations Analyst, or in a similar analytical role.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial tracking, reporting, data analysis, and spreadsheet management.
  • Hands-on Power BI experience, including building dashboards and visualizing financial or operational data.
  • Working knowledge of budgets, forecasts, invoices, accruals, operating expenses, and capital expenditures.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including proactively following up to obtain required information.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience preparing management reports and maintaining accurate financial or operational documentation.
  • A proactive, ownership-driven approach with a strong focus on accountability and timely delivery.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting IT department budgets, financial reporting, or technology operations.
  • Familiarity with vendor management, contract renewals, and technology-related expenses.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps (ADO) or ServiceNow.
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint for management presentations and executive reporting.
  • Experience consolidating project status reports and financial information across multiple teams.
  • Background in banking, financial services, or a large enterprise environment.

Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate is organized, financially savvy, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently. They take ownership of deliverables, communicate proactively, follow up consistently with stakeholders, and ensure financial reports and tracking activities are completed accurately and on time.

If you have strong Excel and Power BI skills combined with financial reporting, budget tracking, and excellent organizational abilities, we encourage you to apply.
