JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.
JOB SUMMARY - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSAn Engineering Technician IV provides support to the engineering and design staff through performing a variety of non-routine and complex assignments during the installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, calibration, testing, fabrication, construction, and operation of diverse electronic/mechanical equipment and systems in accordance with engineering specifications.
Employee will be responsible to perform the following functions/duties:
- Supports electronic transmitting and receiving equipment, digital and analog computers, industrial measuring and controlling equipment, microwave amplifiers and RF components, transmission lines, high- voltage power supplies and keying circuits, indicators and displays, and antenna positioning systems
- Travels occasionally to range locations, meets with personnel in the field, surveys and interviews personnel to obtain/clarify procedures, configuration documents, and periodic maintenance activities
- Works on various types of electronic equipment and related devices by performing a combination of the following: installing, maintaining, repairing, overhauling, troubleshooting, modifying, construction and testing
- Create / update Preventative Maintenance Inspection (PMI) procedures, Maintenance (O&M) manuals, and Work Instructions, and other project documentation
- Monitor and conducts PMIs on various Hardware Engineering controlled property to include, but not limited to, IR cameras, generators, electronic equipment, etc.
- Supports and conducts courtesy ground checks if requested.
- Create / update system drawings associated with authorized changes in accordance with company configuration management guidelines
- Provides technical support to engineers and suggest ways to improve products or equipment which could decrease the mean time between failure or ease of manufacturing
- Manages the Hardware Lab area which includes weekly checks, property management, organizing work areas, general housekeeping, and ordering replacement materials, equipment, or tools
- Designs and builds prototypes of planned products or equipment
- Builds various power, signal, and RF cables according to MIL-SPEC and general industry standards
- Occasionally wires systems according to the National Electric Code (NEC) using engineering documentation
- Provides troubleshooting and installation support for engineers
- Researches and orders various parts to support installation activities
- Provides full life cycle support for threat instrumentation products provided to O&M
- Carries out any other necessary task delegated by the supervisor
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL, AND WORK EXPERIENCEVocational/technical training beyond high school from an academic institution, or military equivalent training and a minimum of seven (7) years of job-related experience are required for this position.
In addition, an Engineering Technician IV must possess the following qualifications:
- Working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs
- Ability to investigate, troubleshoot, and design solutions to problems in operational hardware and software
- Excellent communication and analytical skills; ability to plan/organize tasks
- Ability to work independently and flex work schedule that includes overnight travel

WORKING CONDITIONSWork is performed in a typical office environment with no unusual hazards. Occasional lifting (up to 50 pounds), constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, and constant mental alertness are required.
Travel to remote company work locations may be required; possible overnight trips. Occasionally, support mission deployments (a few days to weeks).
