We are seeking a highly skilled Mobile SDET in the Austin, TX area to join a fastpaced, Tier1 crypto platform team. This role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining automated testing solutions for modern mobile applications across iOS and Android. You will work with cuttingedge technology, collaborate with distributed engineering teams, and directly impact the quality and reliability of critical mobile user experiences.
This role requires strong mobile automation expertise, handson Java coding ability, and a passion for delivering highquality software in a rapid development environment.
Key Responsibilities
Test Development & Automation
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites using XCUI (iOS), Espresso (Android), and Appium.
- Build and execute automation frameworks for functional, regression, and smoke testing.
- Develop comprehensive test plans covering new features, edge cases, and complex scenarios.
- Collaborate with developers to identify testable acceptance criteria and ensure coverage of highrisk areas.
Test Execution & Quality Assurance
- Execute both manual and automated tests across iOS and Android platforms.
- Perform postdeployment validation of backend services, APIs, and app logic.
- Conduct regression testing during release cycles to ensure stability and reliability.
- Log, document, and track defects with clear reproduction steps and severity indicators.
CrossFunctional Collaboration
- Work closely with developers, Product Owners, and QA Leads to clarify requirements and ensure business alignment.
- Participate in refinement sessions, identifying gaps or risks early.
- Lead or contribute to daily standups, providing accurate status updates and flagging blockers.
- Collaborate effectively with geographically distributed teams.
Process Improvement & Leadership
- Contribute to the evolution of QA processes, frameworks, and test methodologies.
- Promote QA best practices across the engineering organization.
- Drive continuous improvement in test coverage, automation efficiency, and quality metrics.
- Mentor junior QA team members on tools, strategy, and automation best practices.
Quality Metrics & Reporting
- Track and report key quality indicators such as test coverage, defect trends, and release readiness.
- Communicate quality risks, impacts, and dependencies to stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate documentation of testing results and processes.
Education & Experience Requirements
- BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3 5 years of mobile application testing (iOS and/or Android).
- 3+ years developing, maintaining, and executing mobile automation frameworks.
- Proven success building automated test suites using XCUI, Espresso, and/or Appium.
Technical Skills
- Strong proficiency in Java or another objectoriented programming language.
- Handson experience with mobile automation frameworks: XCUI, Espresso, Appium.
- Experience with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Zephyr).
- Solid understanding of mobile development lifecycles for iOS and Android.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices.
Soft Skills & Abilities
