About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced
Lead Audio/Visual Service Technician to support and service advanced AV, lighting control, and security systems in primarily
educational environments, with additional work in industrial and office settings. This role will serve as a technical lead in troubleshooting, repair, and customer interaction while ensuring systems operate efficiently and reliably.
Key Responsibilities- Troubleshoot, repair, and service audio/visual and lighting control systems
- Utilize system software and diagnostic tools to identify and resolve system failures
- Interpret scopes of work, drawings, and blueprints
- Terminate and service AV devices and camera systems
- Install, pull, and dress copper and coaxial cabling in backbone, horizontal, and riser environments
- Ensure all work complies with building codes and safety standards
- Communicate effectively with Service Coordinators, Technicians, Project Managers, Field Managers, and customers regarding service progress and resolutions
- Provide exceptional customer service and maintain a professional appearance and demeanor
- Participate in an on-call rotation to support customer needs
Required Skills & Experience- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Solid knowledge of electronics with advanced troubleshooting capabilities
- Strong computer networking skills
- Excellent organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills
- Clear oral and written communication skills
- Technical degree in electronics or equivalent hands-on experience
- Prior experience with commercial security, AV, or related system installations
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Experience- Experience with:
- Lighting control systems
- CCTV and camera systems
- Advanced AV technologies
- Industry certifications such as:
- Crestron
- Savant
- AMX
- Lutron
- Other relevant technical certifications or training
Work Environment- Primarily school systems
- Occasional work in industrial sites and office buildings

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pittsburgh, PA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
