Location: New York City or McLean, VA (3 days onsite a week)

Anti money laundering design team - Risk management
Half his team is based in McLean
Cross functional partners NYC McLean and richmond
AML team - we support all the products that are AML investigators use
2-3 keystone larger products that they invest most of their attention towards, this role will support 1 of those
Nature of this product is mainly a work management tool, very dense in functionality, information and enterprise data / work item data
Always look for some experience working with enterprise tools, working at similar large banks, highly regulated spaces
The density and functionality of data tables and forms to fill out and there are interesting and complex problems to solve
Visually they look for designers to handle functionality so it doesn''t feel overly complex or confusing to users
On a day to day basis, this person should be collaborating with product and tech partners
Pretty semi autonomous, confident and clear in ability to understand problems they will be asked to solve, plan of attack to
Lean on cross functional partners in product and tech to unblock themselves
As a team: 4 FTE designers, meet regularly throughout the week to do critiques and status updates
Peers available for this person to onboard them and help with files and tools they use
Onboard quickly, get lay of the land and work closely and independently
Will this person be focused on interaction? Will it be full stack design? Visual design?
Answer: they do have existing design systems, they don''t need to get into pixels of creating new components for system, but they DO need someone who is pretty good with interaction designer with a PRODUCT mindset
They work in a fast moving area, needs someone who go can go toe to toe with product / engineering, not just take direction, someone who has intuition and push back if what they''re being asked to do doesn''t make sense
User experience, interaction, working with predefined product requirements and use cases
Each designer has their own projects that they own independently, but they have regular meetings during week to share status updates
When browsing through portfolios, mostly looking for someone who seems to have experience working on similar products
Portfolios with enterprise products in B2B, fintech, banking space
More functional than visual
Data tables, forms to fill out, going deep into complex workflows
They have to be able to see someone is comfortable being in those spaces (even though it is hard to do in these high regulated spaces)
Years of experience being 3-5 to make sure person has done similar work in a similar space, steer away with people less than 3 years
They will have daily interactions with product and engineering, they are spending more time with those people than with Greg
Interview process: review portfolios and resumes asynchronously and then during interview it will be 1 hour portfolio presentation and conversation
May pull in one other person during interview

User Experience Designer
Product Design Expertise: Leverage deep expertise in product design and skills across interaction, visual and service design. Collaborate with cross-functional partners, use appropriate tools, platforms, frameworks and design systems and work with teams to create artifacts that may include journey maps, blueprints, high-fidelity designs and prototypes

Business-Focused: Understand and apply business and customer strategy, facilitate design process activities with team and partners, negotiating customer needs and business goals for harmonious outcomes

Communication: Present work to audiences across levels and job functions using a human-centered approach that integrates design frameworks, data and research insights to effectively articulate insights and design decisions.
The ideal candidate has a strong portfolio demonstrating their process, results, and impact.
Qualifications:
At least 4 years of experience in a Product Design role
At least 4 years of experience with design and prototyping tools, such as Figma
At least 4 years of experience collaborating with product, tech and business partners
At least 4 years of experience working with an established design system
Experience working in heavily regulated, data heavy problem spaces
