Summary

Data Center Technician - Rack & Stack / Break-Fix

We are seeking motivated Data Center Technicians to support critical infrastructure operations within a large-scale data center environment. This role is ideal for individuals with low-voltage cabling, break/fix, or ticketing system experience who are looking to grow into a more IT-focused position working hands-on with servers and network equipment.

Shift Schedule

  • B Shift: Thursday-Saturday (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM) + every other Wednesday
  • A Shift: Sunday-Tuesday (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM) + every other Wednesday
  • 12-hour shifts
  • Potential opportunity to move into a Monday-Friday schedule in the future

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform rack & stack of servers, network devices, and rPDU equipment
  • Install and manage structured cabling, including proper cable management
  • Support deployment activities (rack/MOR cabling under supervision)
  • Execute break/fix tasks on servers following documented procedures
  • Decommission IT equipment, including hardware removal
  • Conduct physical audits of data center assets and inventory
  • Assist in moving, racking, and organizing equipment
  • Maintain cleanliness of data center (remove debris, boxes, etc.)
  • Support hard drive destruction processes (shredding and transport)
  • Assist with inventory tracking, audits, and supply management

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience with low-voltage cabling
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems (service requests, tracking, updates)
  • Hands-on break/fix troubleshooting experience
  • Strong work ethic and self-motivated attitude
  • Ability to follow detailed procedures and instructions
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically active environment

Work Environment

  • Active data center environment
  • Physical work including lifting, moving, and racking equipment
  • PPE required at all times:
    • Safety glasses with side shields
    • Level 5 cut-resistant gloves
    • Steel or composite toe boots (6" ankle coverage, ASTM compliant)
    • High-visibility vest
    • Hearing protection (ear plugs)
    • Approved face covering

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
