Join a highly collaborative team for a Global Automotive Company in Raymond, OH to work with cross functional teams and leaders to ensure the effective delivery of translation during key meetings to the growth and development of the project. As an Interpreter and Translator, you will engage with a multi-talented and diverse team to deliver interpretation and translation during daily meetings, create a bridge between any barriers, translate documents accurately, and provide any support the team needs to ensure efficient communication.
This position operates across two shifts a Morning Shift (Monday Friday, 5:00am 10:00am EST) and an Evening Shift (Monday Friday, 5:00pm 10:00pm EST). This role is for the evening shift. Depending on team and project needs, some evenings may be required to help interpret/translate meetings. Please note that there may be days where there are no assignments on Fridays. Hours may be irregular to meet the demands of the project, and the average hours are 20 hours per week, dependent on the candidate's capability.
This position can be done remotely, and equipment will be provided.
Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate simultaneous interpretation for department meetings.
- Convert spoken statements or written material from Japanese to English or English to Japanese in various settings.
- Translate documents accurately and quickly when needed.
- Interpretation may include listening, understanding, and communicating key concepts and information, questions, etc. in Japanese and/or English.
- Although translation is minimal, you are expected to translate documents accurately and quickly, if and when necessary.
- Ability to work irregular hours when required for the success of the project.
Required Skillset:
- Highly experienced in Japanese and English Interpreter and Translator. It is required in both directions: Japanese to English and English to Japanese.
- Fluent in verbal and written formats for both Japanese and English.
- Simultaneous interpretation is required.
- Bachelor s Degree with a few years of Interpretation and Translation experience, and at least 5 years of interpretation experience in substitution of a degree.
- Critical that both Japanese and English is smooth and easy to understand.
