Summary

The Senior Business Technologist has extensive experience in business process analysis and design and works with very little guidance to support (or may lead) the division and Boardwide business functions and cross-functional stakeholders by working to continuously improve business practices and supporting technology. Building on advanced experience, the Senior Business Technologist recommends process improvements to leverage new capabilities in the technology ecosystem (e.g., Workday, ServiceNow, Coupa, and other emerging technologies). The Senior Business Technologist collaborates with other subject matter experts, conducts research, documents, and tests automated processes, and develops reports and metrics to support the Board's missions efficiently and effectively. Supports the user community and has advanced experience in system configuration, integration, testing, troubleshooting, and quality assurance. Has advanced knowledge of technology advances including the use of Analytics/Business Intelligence (BI), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Machine Learning (ML) and opportunities for improvement based on best practices and software as a service (SaaS) innovations and evolution. Assesses the usability of the SaaS systems in the supported ecosystem and the impact of process changes on the Board's workforce, practices, and policies. Assesses SaaS changes and collaborates with appropriate groups to prepare the user community for adopting strategic improvements. The Senior Business Technologist is involved in developing and evolving the supported areas' technology vision, strategy, and execution plan. which affects the Board as a whole. The Senior Business Technologist analyzes current practices and future SaaS enhancements and recommends process improvement/evolution to improve efficiency, the overall user experience, and ability to provide strategic value to business partners with advanced understanding of the downstream impacts to all systems and business processes in the ecosystem. Performs research and analysis to identify, recommend, and enable business process improvements and adoption of industry/government best practices. Possesses advanced experience re-engineering and documenting processes. This position serves as an agent of change and supports or performs training and the development of training materials. Leads subject matter experts in testing changes in automation and analyzing results for efficiency and effectiveness. Requires advanced experience with Enterprise

Resource Planning (ERP) systems and operations with advanced knowledge of industry best practices, emerging technologies, and business.

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Creates and guides the creation of business analyses, workflows, reporting, metrics, and documentation used in shaping continuous improvement with a focus on keeping the Board at the forefront of innovation and keeping the division and its customers on the forefront of technology and change.
  • Provides advanced research, analysis, and metrics that serve as input for technology selection and allows leadership to make informed decisions on strategic direction, development standards, return on investment, and other areas.
  • Recommends to management process improvements, adoption of new capabilities, and fundamental technology for new products or improvements to existing ones. Develops technology execution plans and ensures a balanced innovation plan is successfully executed and measured through the preparation of regular reports and updates.
  • Translates technology concepts into business terminology. Has advanced knowledge of business analysis methodologies (i.e., process flow design, business process modeling, user stories, use cases, development of requirements, review & validate requirements, facilitate discovery sessions and meetings, develop system diagrams, etc.)
  • May review and provide guidance on work products prepared by lower-level staff.
  • Initiates and delivers operational improvements, recommendations, and technical execution plans for how to position technology in the future
  • Collaborates with and may lead technical and business subject matter experts in the implementation of mandatory process changes required by SaaS system releases before the changes are placed in production.
  • Reviews and/or documents process changes and develops training materials, and/or conducts user training. Ensures all documentation is complete, current, and stored appropriately
  • Collaborates with and may lead technical and business subject matter experts in implementing process improvement opportunities and recommending changes to bring the Board aligned with industry best practices and increasing division s value-add proposition to the Board.
Position Requirements

 

Requires bachelor s degree and six (6) years experience. The ideal candidate has advanced expertise in the following areas:

  • Financial management, human capital management/payroll, and/or procurement automation and provides consultation and technical support to users. Required experience with Workday HCM, including the recruiting module. Experience with ServiceNow and Adobe Sign preferred.
  • System configuration; application, integration, and report testing; and ecosystem quality issues.
  • Troubleshooting system and process difficulties, including research and testing and collaborates with business areas and partner divisions to resolve issues.
  • Experience developing and testing new and/or enhanced automation to ensure changes don t negatively impact the division s continued ability to support the Board s essential missions.
  • Performing analysis and translating the business needs of changing technology with a focus on user experience/ease of use.
  • Creating and refining reports and dashboards to provide actionable intelligence for decision makers.
    Agile project management methodologies; is able to lead, understand, apply and assist others while serving as a member of an Agile team.
  • Develops own professional skills. Identifies appropriate directions for professional development, to include strategies for remaining current in software and technology advances and industry best practices. Initiates activities to bring about identified development.
  • Collaborates with and may lead technical and business subject matter experts in implementing process improvement opportunities and recommending changes to bring the Board aligned with industry best practices and increasing the division s value-add proposition to the Board.
  • This position requires ship and a fully on-site presence at our offices in Washington, DC.
