RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Network Engineer in Fulton, MD.
Responsibilities:
* Diagnose complex operational issues quickly
* Understand cloud architecture well enough to identify root causes
* Use AI effectively to accelerate investigation and resolution
* Build automation and AI-driven workflows to eliminate repetitive work
* Learn new cloud services rapidly as AWS and Google Cloud Platform continue to evolve
* Manage and support cloud-native services including compute, storage, networking, identity, monitoring, and security services
* Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, Google Deployment Manager) to support consistent, repeatable infrastructure deployments
* Create and maintain runbooks, knowledge base articles, and technical documentation to support consistent service delivery and knowledge transfer
* Measure and report on automation and AI initiatives, demonstrating improvements in operational efficiency, service delivery, customer experience, and platform reliability
* Champion a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence through the adoption of automation and AI-first operational practices
* Serve as the primary technical resource for managed services customers, driving technical conversations with both the customer and internal account teams
* Communicate effectively with customers regarding incidents, service requests, maintenance activities, and change implementations
* Deliver high-quality customer service while maintaining SLA commitments
* Mentor team members and lead technical initiatives that raise the bar on service delivery, operational efficiency, and engineering best practices
* Provide technical leadership during complex incidents, guiding engineers through troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and long-term corrective actions
REQUIREMENTS:
* AWS or Google Cloud Platform certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
* 6+ years supporting AWS & Google Cloud Platform core services (compute, networking, identity, storage, monitoring, security)
* 3+ years building automation with Python, IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation, Deployment Manager), APIs, and orchestration tools
* 3+ years supporting enterprise infrastructure, cloud operations, managed services, or platform engineering
* Experience leveraging AI tools and automation to improve operational efficiency
* Hands-on experience with REST APIs, cloud-native services, and containerized workloads
* Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and systems-thinking skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to meet public sector background screening requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience working within an AWS/Google Cloud Platform Managed Service Provider (MSP)
* Production experience across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform
* Experience building AI-powered workflows, automation, and operational solutions
* Experience with agentic workflows, AI orchestration, AIOps, observability, and intelligent event correlation
* Experience developing RAG or AI-assisted support solutions
* Experience troubleshooting complex EKS, AKS, or GKE environments
* Familiarity with LLMs, generative AI, AI assistants, and platforms such as Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, and OpenAI APIs
* Knowledge of cloud cost optimization across AWS and Google Cloud Platform
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
