Role Overview
This role provides advanced-level project management support to ensure the successful delivery of projects in accordance with scope, schedule, and budget requirements. The Project Manager Level 2 will apply expertise in project planning, scope management, scheduling, cost management, earned value management, and performance analysis across complex or multi-phase projects. This position is accountable for the success or failure of assigned projects, delivering on scope, cost, and schedule objectives in a high-accountability environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, execute, and close projects by defining scope, building comprehensive work plans, and managing budgets.
- Define technical requirements, develop the project work scope, and establish project schedules with intermediate milestones.
- Monitor and control project performance using Earned Value Management System (EVMS) metrics and practices, including variance analysis and developing corrective actions.
- Ensure proper configuration control over all project documentation, including scope, design drawings, baseline data, and change logs.
- Implement and oversee change control procedures for adjustments to cost, scope, and schedule baselines.
- Manage project risks throughout the lifecycle using a documented risk management process to mitigate cost and schedule impacts.
- Communicate regularly with project stakeholders, including technical staff, financial analysts, and functional managers, to ensure alignment.
- Operate project management software tools, with a focus on the Microsoft Office Suite, and ensure data integrity across all project systems.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's Degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or a related technical field.
Experience: 5+ years of applicable experience in project management, with a demonstrated ability to manage projects or significant project components with limited supervision.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite. Foundational knowledge of project management disciplines, including scope, schedule, cost, risk, and earned value. Knowledge of integrated project controls, including EVMS and critical path methods.
Preferred Qualifications
- A certification in project management (PMP) is strongly preferred.
Work Environment
The work schedule consists of normal business hours, Monday through Friday. This role offers a hybrid work schedule, with the ability to work remotely up to two days per week, subject to approval. Candidates should be able to regularly commute to the Lemont, IL campus.
