Google Cloud Platform Migration Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Google Cloud Platform Migration Engineer in Greenwood Village, CO.

Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Cloud Migration Engineer to support a large-scale enterprise initiative migrating infrastructure and workloads from on-premises environments to Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform).

This role will focus on the execution of migration activities, moving workloads such as virtual machines and databases into Google Cloud Platform using native migration tooling. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience performing enterprise cloud migrations, working with infrastructure teams to successfully transition workloads from traditional data center environments into the cloud.

This position is highly execution-focused and will partner closely with infrastructure, application, and database teams to ensure migrations are completed efficiently, securely, and with minimal disruption.

Key Responsibilities:
* Execute enterprise migrations of workloads from on-premises environments to Google Cloud Platform
* Perform migration of virtual machines, infrastructure services, and databases into Google Cloud Platform environments
* Utilize native migration tooling such as Google Cloud Migrate for Compute Engine to perform lift-and-shift migrations of on-prem workloads
* Support database migrations using Google Cloud Database Migration Service where applicable
* Work closely with infrastructure, networking, and application teams to validate migration readiness and ensure successful cutovers
* Perform testing, validation, and troubleshooting throughout migration activities
* Monitor migration processes and resolve issues related to performance, connectivity, or system dependencies
* Document migration procedures, runbooks, and operational processes
* Collaborate with cloud platform teams to ensure migrated workloads meet enterprise security, networking, and operational standards

REQUIREMENTS:
* 6+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, cloud engineering, or enterprise systems administration
* Hands-on experience migrating workloads from on-prem environments to public cloud platforms
* Direct experience working with Google Cloud Platform
* Experience using Google Cloud Migrate for Compute Engine or similar migration tooling
* Strong experience working with virtual machine environments and enterprise infrastructure
* Experience supporting database migrations during cloud transformation initiatives
* Strong troubleshooting and operational support skills across compute, storage, and networking environments
* Ability to work cross-functionally with infrastructure, application, and database teams during migration planning and execution

Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience supporting large-scale enterprise cloud migration programs
* Familiarity with cloud networking, identity, and security models within Google Cloud Platform
* Experience migrating workloads from VMware or traditional data center environments
* Experience with infrastructure automation or scripting (Terraform, Python, or Bash)
* Experience working in large enterprise infrastructure or corporate IT environments

* Successful migration of enterprise workloads from on-premises infrastructure to Google Cloud Platform
* Smooth migration of virtual machines and databases with minimal service disruption
* Reliable migration processes, documentation, and operational handoff to cloud operations teams

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
