Position Overview
We are looking for a seasoned SAP PS expert to design, configure, and implement SAP Project Systems solutions within SAP S/4HANA and ECC environments. In this client-facing leadership role, you will act as the primary point of contact for end-to-end project delivery, ensuring seamless integration with FICO, MM, and SD modules. You will bridge the gap between business strategy and technical execution, enabling clients to structure projects, manage budgets, track costs, and ensure profitable project delivery. Whether focused on Operations & Maintenance (O&M), Research & Development (R&D), or capital projects, you will be the trusted advisor guiding clients through their project transformation journey.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Design & Configuration
Lead discovery workshops with project managers, finance teams, and operations stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into scalable SAP PS solutions.
Architect and configure SAP PS to map end-to-end project processes, including:
Project Structuring: Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), networks, activities, and milestones.
Budgeting & Availability Control: Original budgets, supplements, transfers, and commitment/actual checks.
Project Execution: Resource-related billing, capacity planning, and progress analysis.
Settlement: Rules and profiles for settling costs and revenues to assets, cost centers, or profitability segments.
Design solutions for diverse project types, including customer projects (make-to-order), capital projects, and internal R&D initiatives.
Financial Control & Integration
Establish robust budget, cost, and revenue tracking mechanisms, ensuring alignment with financial reporting requirements.
Deep integration with FICO for cost element setup, automatic and manual cost allocation, results analysis, and profitability reporting.
Manage integration with MM for project-linked procurement (stock/non-stock materials, services) and SD for project-based billing and sales order management.
Collaborate with technical teams to design and deliver RICEFW objects (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, Workflows) that extend PS functionality.
Project Leadership & Delivery
Drive full-life cycle SAP S/4HANA implementations from scoping and blueprinting through configuration, testing, and go-live.
Manage project teams, coordinate tasks, conduct fit-gap analysis, and ensure successful delivery of project phases.
Oversee System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) , managing defect resolution and ensuring business process validation.
Lead cutover activities, including master data migration (project definitions, WBS, networks) and go-live support.
Stakeholder Management & Change Leadership
Act as the primary point of contact for business stakeholders, managing expectations, communicating progress, and mitigating risks.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams (FICO, MM, SD, ABAP) to define project scope, resolve integration issues, and ensure on-time delivery.
Drive user adoption through effective change management, training, and post-go-live support.
Provide ongoing SME support for complex project issues, ensuring system stability and user satisfaction.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Experience: 8 15+ years of SAP consulting experience, with a minimum of 5+ years specialized in SAP Project Systems (PS) .
Project Track Record: Proven history of delivering 2-3+ full-lifecycle SAP PS implementations, from blueprint to go-live, ideally in SAP S/4HANA.
Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of project management principles, including project structuring, budgeting, milestone billing, and progress analysis.
Configuration Expertise: Hands-on expertise in configuring:
Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and Networks
Project Profiles and Planning Profiles
Budgeting and Availability Control
Results Analysis and Settlement
Resource-Related Billing (RRB)
Integration Knowledge: Strong experience integrating PS with:
FICO: Cost elements, commitment management, actual cost posting, settlement.
MM: Procurement processes for projects (stock material, consumables, external services).
SD: Project-based sales orders, delivery, and billing.
ABAP: Ability to guide technical teams on PS-related enhancements and reports.
Technical Acumen: Familiarity with SAP Fiori apps for project management and reporting.

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, Finance, or related field (MBA preferred).
SAP Certifications in SAP PS or SAP S/4HANA for Project Systems.
Experience in specific industries such as Aerospace & Defense, Construction, Engineering, Oil & Gas, Professional Services, or Public Sector.
Knowledge of SAP Portfolio and Project Management (PPM) or SAP Commercial Project Management (CPM).
Experience with project-based analytics and reporting tools (SAP Analytics Cloud).
