IT Project Manager (Infrastructure & Manufacturing Technology)
Location: Maple Grove, MN
Schedule: Hybrid - Minimum 3 days per week onsite
Duration: Minimum 1-year contract with strong likelihood of extension (potentially 1-2+ years)
Travel: Occasional travel to manufacturing and operational sites as needed
Pay Rate: $50-65/hour
Overview
We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to support a large-scale technology modernization initiative across a growing manufacturing organization. This role will be instrumental in helping drive infrastructure projects, technology standardization efforts, connectivity improvements, and key prerequisite initiatives that support a broader enterprise transformation roadmap.
The ideal candidate will be a hands-on project manager who can effectively balance multiple concurrent projects, manage third-party vendors, establish realistic timelines, drive prioritization discussions, and hold stakeholders accountable for deliverables. This position requires someone who can bring structure, organization, and strategic thinking to a fast-paced environment with many moving pieces.

What You'll Be Doing
- Lead and coordinate multiple IT infrastructure projects simultaneously.
- Develop project plans, roadmaps, timelines, and critical path analyses.
- Help drive prioritization discussions by evaluating business needs, dependencies, risks, and resource requirements.
- Facilitate project meetings and provide clear communication across technical and business stakeholders.
- Manage third-party vendors, contractors, telecommunications providers, and infrastructure partners.
- Coordinate internet and network connectivity initiatives across multiple facilities.
- Support infrastructure projects involving carriers, circuits, fiber deployments, networking, and site connectivity.
- Track project milestones, risks, issues, action items, and dependencies.
- Work closely with IT leadership to transition project work from reactive execution to strategic planning.
- Drive accountability across stakeholders and ensure commitments are met.
- Support technology initiatives that serve as prerequisites for future ERP and enterprise system implementations.
- Assist with tenant migrations and other infrastructure-related modernization efforts.
- Participate in occasional site visits to manufacturing and operational facilities.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as an IT Project Manager or Technical Project Manager leading infrastructure-focused initiatives.
- Strong background managing internet, telecommunications, carrier, network, and/or connectivity projects.
- Experience coordinating third-party vendors, contractors, service providers, and external partners.
- Demonstrated ability to create and manage project plans, roadmaps, timelines, and project priorities.
- Experience leading project meetings and driving follow-through from stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to confidently push back, manage expectations, and navigate challenging project dynamics.
- Strong understanding of infrastructure project delivery methodologies and best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a manufacturing, industrial, distribution, or plant operations environment.
- Experience supporting large-scale technology transformation or modernization initiatives.
- Familiarity with projects involving data collection systems, operational technology, or manufacturing technology environments.
- Exposure to ERP implementation support projects, particularly SAP-related initiatives.
- PMP or other project management certifications are a plus.
