Technical Project Manager

Overview [15+ Years, Preferably Utilities (NYS) and Data Analytics Initiatives]

• The Technical Project Manager (TPM) is the go-between Business and IT to ensure all responsible parties deliver their tasks in a timely manner. This role is specific to the long-term asks for the project, that is, planned features/enhancements for 2026-2029.

Requirements:

• NYS utility experience is strongly preferred.
• If candidates do not have New York utility experience, candidates with experience working for other state utilities will also be considered.

• required qualifications:
• Senior-level capability (L4 or equivalent) with Project/Program/Product Management experience in managing full software development lifecycle (SDLC) projects.
• Experience working within a scaled Agile framework.
• Exceptional multi-stakeholder management and communication with a track record of delivering executive-level status reports and program increment summaries.
• Proficiency with project management collaboration tools (Azure DevOps, Mural, Whiteboard, MS Project/Planner or equivalent)
• Experience with risk management and issue escalation across niche product development teams.

Scope of responsibilities:

• Will own the full project life-cycle of all new features and enhancements aligned with BEUP's 4 key long-term deliverables. This includes setting up meetings with all internal and external stakeholders, following up on action items, keeping people accountable on tasks and ensuring constant and well detailed communication across the team.
• TPM will help remove all impediments and will ensure the product team remains focused on delivering complete requirements while the development team have all they need to build, test and deploy.
• TPM will also introduce process standardization across the team and will promote documentation and effective communication for better project outcomes.
• Will ensure the Business requirements are fully understood and delivered on by the development team. TPM will be the accountable person for ensuring an alignment between the Product Owner/Business Analysts and the Development team and will facilitate working sessions between both teams where and when needed.
