We are seeking a motivated, hands-on Ground Handler Jr. Lead to support a fast-paced drone delivery operation. This role combines frontline operational responsibilities with peer leadership, training, workflow coordination, and basic operational reporting.


The Jr. Lead works closely with the Ground Handler Lead and site leadership to help ensure daily operations run safely, efficiently, and according to established procedures. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with experience in fulfillment, logistics, delivery, retail operations, or aviation who enjoys working hands-on while developing their leadership skills.

responsibilities:

As a Ground Handler Jr. Lead, you will:


  • Provide frontline operational support and direction to Ground Handler associates.
  • Assist with daily drone delivery and fulfillment operations, including picking, packing, loading, and other hands-on activities during periods of high demand.
  • Help ensure associates are present, properly equipped, and prepared for daily operations.
  • Assist leadership with assigning and rotating team members among operational positions based on workflow and demand.
  • Monitor operational metrics and workflow information using computer systems and digital applications.
  • Help coordinate breaks while maintaining appropriate site coverage.
  • Provide peer coaching, training, and procedural clarification to frontline associates.
  • Reinforce established safety requirements, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and operational expectations.
  • Communicate daily priorities, procedural updates, and operational expectations to team members.
  • Monitor radio responsiveness, employee readiness, and adherence to established procedures.
  • Assist with attendance reporting, operational logs, shift updates, and leadership handoffs.
  • Identify and report staffing gaps, attendance concerns, safety issues, performance concerns, or operational barriers to site leadership.
  • Serve as an additional onsite point of contact when the Ground Handler Lead is temporarily unavailable.
  • Maintain the readiness, organization, and safety of the operational site, aircraft, and associated equipment.




qualifications:

Previous experience in delivery operations, fulfillment, warehouse/logistics, retail operations, aviation support, drone operations, or a similar fast-paced environment preferred.


Experience training, coaching, mentoring, or providing direction to coworkers is highly desirable.


Basic computer and digital literacy with the ability to navigate software platforms, operational applications, and reporting tools.


Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.


Ability to provide clear, respectful operational direction and peer coaching.


Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, professionalism, and sound judgment.


Strong attention to safety, detail, and established procedures.


Ability to use radios, mobile devices, computers, and other operational technology.


Ability to complete and maintain all required Ground Handler and safety training.


Candidates must be available to work one of the following schedules:


Schedule A: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and half-day Wednesday


Schedule B: Second half of Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday


This is a fully onsite position. Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and changing operational schedules is required.
