Are you looking for a hands-on career where you can learn technical skills, work with your hands, and grow into a skilled trade? We are seeking an Entry-Level Low Voltage Cable Technician to join our team supporting commercial construction and technology projects.
This position is ideal for someone with some experience in a trade environment-such as construction, electrical work, cabling, maintenance, HVAC, or telecommunications-who wants to build a long-term career in the growing low-voltage industry.
You'll work alongside experienced technicians installing communication cabling and supporting technology infrastructure in commercial buildings, healthcare facilities, schools, and other professional environments.
Key Responsibilities

Installation Support

  • Assist with the installation of CAT5e, CAT6, and fiber optic cabling
  • Pull, route, label, and secure low-voltage cables according to project specifications
  • Support cable terminations on jacks, patch panels, and equipment racks
  • Assist with mounting network devices, access points, cameras, and related hardware
  • Learn industry standards and cable management best practices
  • Perform basic cable testing and troubleshooting under supervision

Job Site Activities

  • Read and follow project drawings, floor plans, and work instructions
  • Work closely with lead technicians to complete installation projects on schedule
  • Prepare and organize tools, materials, and equipment
  • Maintain clean and safe work areas throughout project completion
  • Follow company safety policies and customer site requirements

Professional Development

  • Learn structured cabling, networking fundamentals, and low-voltage installation techniques
  • Participate in on-the-job training programs
  • Develop technical skills for advancement into Technician II and Lead Technician roles

Qualifications

Required

  • 6 months to 2 years of experience in construction, electrical, cabling, telecommunications, maintenance, or another skilled trade
  • Ability to use basic hand and power tools safely
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn new technical skills
  • Reliable transportation to local job sites
  • Ability to lift equipment and materials and work on ladders as needed
  • Dependable attendance and professional attitude
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Preferred

  • Previous experience pulling cable or working with wiring
  • Experience on commercial construction job sites
  • Familiarity with blueprint reading or construction drawings
  • Basic knowledge of networking, telecommunications, or low-voltage systems
  • OSHA 10 certification or similar safety training

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
