About this PositionThe Enterprise Data Management Product Owner/Manager plays a vital role in driving enterprise data management strategy, prioritize data product decisions, define and lead the change management strategy, and create a shared understanding of how data assets enable business value across the organization. This position will build and manage the Enterprise Data Management (EDM) product portfolio roadmap to deliver end-to-end connected data experiences for business users, data consumers, and enterprise stakeholders through close collaboration with business unit leaders, IT partners, and cross-functional product teams.
Responsibilities & QualificationsThis position is responsible for overseeing all activities relating to the evolution and delivery of enterprise data products and "data as a product" approaches. This includes research into data management best practices and business needs, leading data governance frameworks, coordinating with teams to deliver certified enterprise data assets, and positioning the organization for future AI and Analytics capabilities.
This role is hybrid in Duluth, GA.
Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership & Product Management- Own and maintain the Enterprise Data Management (EDM) roadmap across business and IT, ensuring alignment with enterprise strategy and business priorities.
- Create and maintain compelling data and analytics product visions in partnership with other data-related product owners, including BI & Analytics Product Owners and business data domain leaders (Life, ISP, Rep/Agent, Marketing, etc.)
- Lead enterprise data product support for new business demand and initiatives as part of demand intake and management processes within enterprise portfolio practices.
- Develop deep understanding of the enterprise data ecosystem, including data flows, integrations, and dependencies that support critical business capabilities.
- Drive the adoption of data-driven decision-making processes across the organization.
- Identify opportunities to expand data collection, quality, and accessibility to deliver insights.
- Define and lead the change management strategy and execution for key initiatives, covering stakeholder engagement, communications, training, and adoption metrics.
Product Delivery & Value Realization- Planning and prioritization of data capabilities and features on the roadmap in consideration of effort, value, risks, and desired business outcomes.
- Prioritize data product enhancements and manage release schedules working closely with development teams and project managers
- Regular involvement in development and delivery, providing guidance, support, and decision-making for data product features
- Review and approve product teamwork including requirements documentation, data models, technical specifications, and training materials
- Capture and leverage data metrics and KPIs to influence product roadmap decisions and demonstrate business value
- Maintain and leverage product feedback to resolve data quality issues and improve overall data product portfolio based on value and priority.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Execution- Partner with business unit leaders, Digital Distribution, Life Ops, ISP, and third-party partners in a cross-functional capacity to understand data needs and deliver value
- Collaborate closely with IT data engineering leaders to translate business requirements into technical data product capabilities
- Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to develop ideal data experiences incorporating concepts of accessibility, data quality, self-service enablement, and business intelligence.
- Articulate and communicate data product requirements, value propositions, and impacts to diverse stakeholders
- Lead regular collaboration work sessions with data engineering teams, business analysts, and product delivery teams
- Provide stakeholders and business partners with actionable data insights that enhance and guide effective decision-making
Governance & Stewardship- Lead and coordinate business roles and responsibilities in data governance, partnering with data domain business owners, data stewards, IT leaders, and data analytics communities.
- Manage and maintain data standards, policies, and requirements materials ensuring traceability and compliance.
- Establish and oversee feedback processes for data quality, usability, and business value realization.
- Ensure proper data literacy, training, and support materials are delivered to enable effective data consumption
- Provide leadership support for enabling, governing, and implementing business performance metrics based on well-certified enterprise data
- Lead the preparation of the business for data management practices and dependencies needed for future AI and advanced analytics investments
